Anyone have any experience with E5 Wheels? Looking at a Set to replace my factory set on my 19 GS M7 now that it is Procharged. Also looking for recommendations on Tires as mine are aged out. Go back to Run Flats?? Continental ?
I don't have any experience with E5 but they had a huge tent at Carlisle last week and I'm starting to see more and more of their wheels every year. If I didn't already have wheels, I would probably go with them since I like most of their designs. I talked to a guy that had a gloss black set on his C7. He said he liked them so much he was going to buy a set for his Camaro ZL1!
As for tires, I stuck with Michelin but went with the All Season 4's, which are fun flat. They eliminated the wheel hop at full lock and I don't notice any difference in grip for the type of driving that I do.
I like 3 of my 4 E5 Daytona Chrome wheels. The reason I don't like the 4th one is that the first one could not be balanced, the folks at E5 very quickly got me in the queue for a replacement wheel. Got it about a month later and it could not be balanced either. So now I am waiting for the third wheel to get here. The folks at E5 have been easy to deal with but this has been a bit frustrating.
Also, be aware that the stock center cap does not fit my Daytona wheel. The overall size (the diameter) is correct but the inside of the center opening of these wheels must be shaped differently and the "grabber arms" on the back of the cap do not grab the wheel.
