There was a thread recently started buy a guy who bought a new Corvette from Ciocca. They did a hack job on the ceramic coating he paid for and then charged him an extra thousand dollars on top of that. They were very unresponsive to him and several other forum members spoke up about similar experiences. One guy got very aggressive with him and said some demeaning things. The forum starter ended up receiving a cease and desist letter from Ciocca so he decided to take down his posts and the thread was shut down by the forum administrator. If you look at all the reviews on line you can see a pattern with this dealership. The cease and desist letter they sent our forum member is reprehensible. I think the thread starter realizes now never to but extras from a dealership but he didn’t deserve how he was treated.
So is the overall vibe that Kerbeck went downhill after it became Ciocca? What a shame!
Sometimes that happens when a 'familiar' dealership changes hands. Our local Toyota and Mazda dealers went through a similar change. The "old" family sold them to a huge corporate entity with a few million bucks they didn't need and now they seem to enjoy ripping people off and not caring about their customers anymore
Thanks to the Internet, the lack of good will just might cost Ciocca more in lost future business than the extra money they made from the original victim.
I have never bought a new Corvette. But i have bought used Stingrays from dealerships. I have purchased from my local Rick Hendrick Chevrolet. They have always been fair, reasonable and honest in my opinion
MacMulkin Chevrolet is supposedly the world’s #1 Corvette dealer and is located in Nashua, NH. Supposedly it has BBB complaints, service delays, and forum rants about poor communication situations. Of course, anybody can file a BBB complaint.

Before I ordered my (then) new 2017 Stingray, I considered three of the "forum dealers" - MacMulkin, Kerbeck (now Ciocca) and Criswell (Mike Furman). Finding somebody to quote you a price is not all that difficult - although still much more difficult than it ought to be. But was it worth it to me to save $1,000 to buy a car in New Hampshire if it meant flying up there, getting an Uber to the dealership lot and then driving home in February snowfall back to Virginia? Was it worth it to save $500 by traveling all the way to New Jersey? Nope.
I ordered my Stingray with what I wanted on it - without anything I didn't. He kept in touch during the entire process and my car actually was ready a week before the date it was promised. I took an Uber there to the dealership right after I got off work, they let me pay by personal check (!) and I drove it home that night and put it in the garage of my townhouse. Lucky I did because it snowed the next day.
But everybody's situation is different. Doing business with Mike Furman was awesome! He reached out to me when I was just browsing the forum asking questions about Corvettes from current owners. He messaged me and I told him that I'd have to wait until I sold my house (it didn't have a garage AND I needed the money from the sale) before I could do anything. Once that went through, and I was able, I reached out to him. I drove up there (a bit more than two hours from where I lived), he met me in the showroom on his day off (!), showed me what he had on the lot, walked me through the catalog of options, etc. He didn't even ask me for a deposit, either. Told me to go home and think about it for a few days - then I could put a deposit on my debit card if I decided to order one.
As a first-time Corvette buyer, he made the process very easy and my girlfriend (now wife) ended up buying a new Corvette Stingray from him two years later. Sure, get a price from MacMulkin & Ciocca. But also give Mike Furman at Criswell the chance to earn your business. There is good reason that he's sold more than 6,000 Corvettes in his career in auto sales.
Furman might be OK if you live close-by, but MacMulkin will courtesy delivery to a dealer nearby you. No need to travel, so that's really not an issue.
Not sure of why the original guy gave up so easy. There is no law that prevents us from sharing our life experiences. You can't slander them, but sharing your bad experience is covered by the first amendment. So many people don't understand the law and the constitution. It's sad.

For sure! I was not aware - back then - that MacMulkin could do a courtesy delivery to a different dealership nearby. It makes me wonder what the "local" Chevy dealer would think about that. LOL!
When I was considering getting a Corvette, I visited three Chevy dealers in the area. One gave me a price that was okay, but not great. The other two just wanted to play games and it was an exercise in frustration. It was really odd that one of them kept their new Corvettes in a parking deck underneath where pigeons nested. Seeing bird poop all over new Corvettes was disturbing, to say the least.
Don't take my comment to mean that Mike Furman is the be all end all, but he at least deserves a shot at earning your business. I understand that the Internet certainly has changed the way we do business - and that includes the car business. But yeah, living in Virginia is an advantage when dealing with him - although he does have customers from all over the USA.

X2
I would've sent that C&D back with a box of dog ****. Ciocca has a track record of being a little shady, and bullying a customer who you short changed only proves it more.
I do get a kick out of the forum lawyers coming out of the woodwork, mostly to try and defend a dealership and their shady practices while completely ignoring the poor guy who got screwed.
I chalk it up to a bunch of guys with nothing better to do, so they live out their law and order fantasy online
I'd never let dealers do a PPF or ceramic, you're always paying them extra than having an independent company do it, even if they use the same company.

Because the process is the punishment. OP probably has better things to do with their time & possibly money than waste it defending free speech rights on something so insignificant in the grand scheme of things.
I am really upset with how the guy who started the other thread was treated by the dealership as well as the person on the forum who likely works for the dealership. A cease and desist is an empty threat but I guess the dealership and the forum bully won this time. Hopefully all the forum members that read this will think twice before they make a decision where to purchase.

He was just being honest and only shared his experience. The pitbull from our forum should be banned for attacking him and likely causing the dealers letter. I can’t stand keyboard bullies and can proudly say that in six years on this forum I have seen that very few times. Generally most of us are good people always offering advice and support.

The nut swingers who defend dealerships like they're family members is truly an interesting sight to behold. The pysche of a guy who exhibits such behavior should be studied by a group of medical professionals.
