My 2017 Stingray has been a terrific car since I got it in 2019. Came to me with 3541 miles already showing. Other than tires it has not given me any trouble until 2024 when the "check engine" light came on. A code check showed transmission. The light went out. Same thing happened in 2025, and again now in 2026. There has never been problems in normal operation of the vehicle with or without the light. The only similarity in these three incidents is that the car had recently come out of a 5 month winter hibernation. I have been given several different guesses on the cause and solution for this and the costs range from OK to a new C-8. Now, someone in the dealership where I got it told me this is somewhat common for C-7s. His belief is they do not like to sit. Has anyone on the forum ever experienced this problem?
I do not know the exact digits of the code, just that it reads "transmission".
The exact code will go a long way to narrowing down the issue, and the cost to repair. Until then, it's, as you said, "several different guesses on the cause and solution for this and the costs range from OK to a new C-8."
Causes for a "check engine" light can be frustrating to understand and/or diagnosis. We want a chance to look into this further alongside your dealership so you can continue to enjoy your Corvette in the warmer weather. I am trying to respond to your question. I keep trying to log-in to your site and my password is rejected! That failed password works to get me into this site, but will not allow me to access the GM site. For whatever reason this site is giving me as many problems as the damned light. Please try me at my e-mail address: davidb@dnaco.net. I KNOW that address and site are working with no errors.

im pretty sure you have to join the gm site to get in there. This site isnt part of the gm site as far
as I know.
This forum needs a fail button for people that dont provide basic info such as scanning for a code them selves
Possibly you could suggest howI mention something I have not been able to `find out? All I have been told was "It's a transmission code." My code reader read nothing. Where do you expect me to look next?

why don’t you take it to an auto parts store
that will read it for you? See if they find any codes
