Default GM card points

I've got $3750 GM Card points that can be used towards a new Corvette C7 this week

Negotiate your best price at your dealer, and then use my points for a further $3750 reduction.

Asking $2750 - 3000. You will net a $750-1000 discount off of the price of your corvette.

Please PM me if your interested. First to make highest offer wins.

Thanks

Every time I have cashed in my points ($25,000 over the years) I have had to present my card to my dealer for verification. I'm not sure this will work.

I believe it depends on which card you have (there are several variations). I have a very early one which I don't believe has that restriction.

Older cards allow you to add a user on the card, then that person can redeem the points at time of purchase. Buyer gives certain info to the dealer like name, last four number on card and zip, then point are deducted. Card holder then removes that name from the account. I've purchased points this way without any problem.

When I cashed in points (granted it was many years ago) I didn't need to present the card. Pretty sure that you do have to be an authorized user though. It would be worth the trouble to save $1000. Where were you when I was ready to buy?

Thanks for the clarification. I have one of the original cards that I max the $500 (was originally $1000 a year) early in the year & then start using a later GM Business card. I try to buy when they throw in an extra $750-$1000, & buy enough that I've never looked in to selling off.

That's what I thought too. They must be talking about cards grandfathered in from before the 2000s even. I've had my GM card since 2002ish and I can go crazy with it, but can only pump it to 3k for a Vette.

How about member since 1987?
Used to be able to earn $1000/year, for 7 years, and no restrictions. Now can only accumulate $500/year. Have never been limited on how much can be used per car.

I thought that even with the original GM cards, you can only collect $500 per year for 7 years, or $3500 max.

I'd guess 18s will be the same as 17s or better. It will be different when they come out with a C8. I was thinking you couldn't even use any points for a bit on the C7 when it came out.

I bought my 2017 Z06 early in the production cycle and had no problem using points. If it was a C8 Id be more concerned but not on a C7.
