Yeah, a panel trim tool remover is the easiest way. I picked up a metal one from Sears, it makes stuff like that a lot easier.

Agreed. And you must lift them straight out. Then they come out easier. I did it on a cold Engine and worked just fine. Without that tool it would be pretty tough.

How do you disconnect the one wiring connector that will need to be disconnected in order to lift the plenum off?

I followed everyone’s suggestions and still broke it. Who has the replacement part number? I saw it in a thread but can’t find the thread now when I need it. Ugh

Just got my plenum cover, from Showstoppers, for my '19GS and attempted to remove the old one, but to no avail. As are others, I'm afraid of breaking the plug. So If I break the plug, then I can't drive the car and how long would it take to order a new plug? And what is a panel trim tool remover? Never heard of it and would like to see a pic, so I can pull the harness out. Thanks

Doug, any success?
Got my covers from Pete and was going to try this week. I googled Trim remover tool and there are many variations. Looking to be the needle in the haystack and NOT break that plug...

Unbelievable!! Took the car to my Corvette mechanic, who's in our club, and explained to him about problems with removing this stuff. It took him about 2 minutes to remove everything. Carefully take a flat head screwdriver and slide the blue thingy on the right, towards the firewall and push down and pull the plug out. Even if you break that tab, it's no big deal. He took a tool that has a V prong and slipped it under the wire harness on each hole and pulled up and the zip tie came right thru the holes, no problem. Hope this helps you and now I would do it myself, if I had to.

I think it's worth trying yourself but if you don't, it's Gallants Automotive in Bel Air and his name is Rob;he's the owner.

Default smog (?) connection on drivers side, front of assembly

There is a smog (?) connection on the driver's side, front end of assembly that you have to remove before changing lower rail covers. How to you remove that? Pull up? Screw out ?
