Only Carbotech uses a proprietary Ceramic and Metallic brake construction, not the carbon and iron used in conventional brake systems. Since carbon and iron combine to form carbide, which is used in cutting tools, you can imagine what those brakes are doing to your rotors.

XP8 will work best for your option front and rear. There are so, many other factors I need to know more. Are you willing to swap pads for street and track?

A high torque brake compound with a wide operating temperature range of 200°F-1250°F+ (93°C to 676°C+). Carbotech™ XP8™ is the first of our racing compounds. Good initial bite at race temperatures, high coefficient of friction, excellent modulation and release characteristics. Extremely high fade resistance and very rotor friendly. Perfect for track day use with any tire and can still be driven safely to and from the track. Carbotech™ does NOT recommended XP8™ as a daily driven street pad due to elevated levels of dust and noise. Carbotech™ XP8™ is a great compound on the front & rear of most open wheel and sports racers.

1521 pads
Installed the 1521 pads on Z51 yesterday. Perfect fit. Test drive (agressive) was very positive. Smooth and quiet operation. Very little dust after 50 miles. Much better than OEM. Thanks again Adam, Slim.

Well, it is spring in Wisconsin and I have had the pleasure of getting the C7 out with the new low dust pads. And I just wanted to say thanks. They work great and I love not having to clean the wheels every darn time I drive it with the Z51 pads. I sure hope GM can do this switch so the rest of the world can stop cleaning wheels so much.
