Default Problem with magnetic ride (specification mention it available but ......)

hello guys,
I got this vehicle imported from USA and I live in middle east Kuwait. My problem is that my vehicle specification (VIN) mentions that it has a magnetic ride control by pressing the traction button twice while in track mode and screen will pop up to choose between 5-settings but nothing happen.

I can see that many owners got this issue when I looked over the net and many said to take to maintenance and do a reflash.

I took it to my local chevrolet maintinance here In Kuwait (alghanim group) and after checking for 1 day the engineer said that my car doesn't have that option !!!!!!!. he pull the VIN info for my car and it already mentioned but he said he checked by computer it not there.

The company said they can't do anything about it and told me to contact chevy on USA. I have emailed them and got answer to contact GM in Saudi Arabia, I am waiting till next week to call them.

I saw many issue like this guy :

Is it a Z51?

Mag Ride is controlled by rotating the **** to various modes, which firm or loosen up the ride via the shocks.

I think what you are trying to get to is a traction control mode.

You're speaking of the Performance Traction Management by confusing it with the Mag Ride in your attempts.

Rotate the drive select **** to adjust the Magnetic Ride control (Track is the stiffest)

Pressing the traction control button is for the PTM (Performance Traction Management).

Press Traction Control button Once, wait 1 second, press a second time. The menu will pop up to select the PTM setting, turn the Drive select **** until the desired mode is selected and then do nothing more, it will set itself and the menu will disappear until you turn the **** again.

To return PTM to normal and change driving modes out of Track, press the Traction Control button Once.

I have this setup, pressing it 5 times like you did... you're pressing it too quickly and that's why it seems to take so many times for it to react.

My personal experience is if you press the T/C button too quickly it won't register the second application of the button.

Is the car Automatic or Manual? (Pertaining to the Launch control.)

You can't access the launch control because you have to be in one of the PTM modes. Also, once in a PTM, you need to aggressively apply the throttle while in gear with the clutch pedal fully drepressed.

That's not true, with the car in Track mode Launch control is active already.

In this video starting at 0:15 the launch control activation is explained.

http://www.corvetteblogger.com/2013/...-control-demo/

Track Mode + either Competitive Mode (non-Z51, Z51 non-MRC) or PTM Mode (Z51+MRC) are required for launch control. Both those modes require the T/C button double-tap.

Edit: This is also on page 9-45 in the owner's manual.

All C7s have the Driver Mode Selector. MRC or not. The easiest physical inspection I am aware of to verify MRC is the rubber boot with wire coming out the top of the front shocks.

All due respect, I still disagree - I base this on the fact that I own said vehicle and that I've used mine with out engaging a PTM setting. Simply putting the car in track mode.

Is my car somehow different? Flawed? I do not care to debate, I stand by what I said none the less.

My problem is with the performance traction management for wet dry sport 1 sport 2 , not the mode selection : economy, touring, sport...etc and yes all C7 got the rotary selective thing

Here is a photo of a C7 showing mag ride front shock. This is a picture of a damaged shock but I chose it so you can clearly see the rubber top of the shock and the wire coming out. If your shock has a wire coming out, you have mag ride. The difference in suspension settings will be very noticeable between tour and track with track mode being more like Go Kart suspension. Sport mode is firmer than Tour but not as firm as Track Mode.

To access the PTM or competitive driving mode sub menus, first rotate the mode selector so that you are in Track Mode (Tr). Once in track mode, then push the button in the middle of the mode selector twice leaving about a second between presses. The sub menu should come up on the dash display allowing you to select the different modes.

I just went through this with my dealer on Tuesday. My car has the Z 51 and mag ride shocks. I ordered the car directly so I know it has these 2 options. When I dropped it off at the dealer, I said I never could access the performance traction management option. I even copied sections from the manual.

They came back and said that my car didn't have this. And I brought in the manual to the dealer and I showed him. The manual is confusing, and they were looking in the competitive driving mode which is the system when you have a non-Z51. The dealer even said they were on the phone with Chevrolet for an hour talking about it.

Then the mechanic said that when you push the traction control button twice the performance traction management system comes up. I told him that's what I brought it in for! It never came up before. I also brought it in to reflash the seat and the infotainment screen software.

Apparently when they were doing all the reflash, it also fixed the missing PTM system. Works perfect now but the dealer was all confused about competitive driving mode for non Z51 versus performance traction management for the Z51 with Mag ride shocks
