Great comparison. When you can please try to grab a sound clip of the borla, I am considering it or the corsa.

I'll see what I can do, and put my girlfriend to work with her phone to record a sound clip

I never considered building a x only because I didn't think many of them would sell.

Do you think this is a popular mod to get rid of the rear cats?

Jason, if you build it, they will come😀 This is a very popular mod. However, many are holding out due to cost. If you can build a similar unit to the Corsa in 304 stainless steel in the $300 range, they will sell like hot cakes. Concentrate on increasing flow with mandrel bends and no CATS along with a design that will increase the volume of sound as much as possible, and you will have a winner.

Agreed. Cheap and loud.

Does anyone know what the difference between the Borla X pipe part #60457 and Borla X pipe part #60548 is? The 60547 is $150 more.

Borla's website has the following description for 60547, but no description for 60548.

"This X-pipe eliminates the secondary cats. It will bolt into the factory location and will work with both the OE mufflers and BORLA® mufflers. It will not work with the BORLA® Long Tube Header"

60548 retains the stock secondary X-pipe cats. You have to cut your stock X-pipe post-cats and 60548 slips over it. Borla's PDF instructions show the differences pretty well: http://www.borla.com/60548.pdf

So something I'm concerned about is loosing some of that burble. People have said the x pipe decreases that off timing exhaust burble that sounds so mean. Kracka, can you confirm that the borla doesn't decrease that gurgly burbly exhaust note of the npp, especially on deceleration? Thanks!

That is exactly the reason I went with the Borla. The Corsa, with the double-X, smooths out the exhaust tone (which some like as its more European/exotic). The Borla, with a single-X (just like stock), keeps that mean burble you're referring to (very American V8 rumble), and actually makes it a little louder with the removal of two cats; plus the occasional popping during off-throttle decel. The car stayed the same in Touring mode, but in Sport mode you can really tell the difference. The exhaust has a very aggressive tone to it, but without being too loud. Initial fire of a the engine when cold is even sharper now too. I'm very happy with no regrets, doing it all over again I'd still stick with the Borla.

I went with the Corsa and I think it sounds awesome. Same burble as before but just deeper and a little louder. I like the Corsa because of it being 3" instead of the smaller Borla.

I really need to stop reading this forum, too many GREAT ideas and information! So, I bit the bullet today and ordered Borla 11856 ATAK and Borla 60547 x pipe. I already have the ATAK on a 2010 Camaro SS and 2014 Challenger R/T and they sound great. Can't wait now for the arrival and install. Thanks John W. at MarylandSpeed!!

That is awesome! Enjoy, and be sure to report back once you get it installed. If possible, see if you can weigh the stock axle-back after you remove it; the more data we have available the better

I finally got around to installing my corsa x pipe. its ok. definitely has a louder bark when you fire it up, seems to settle back when warm. its not much louder to me, nor did the sound change that much, but I haven't really had the car much past ~3500 yet so maybe in the upper ranges its different. id still say its worth it though.

Whole different animal in the upper RPM range, rev it out and report back, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I think I am about ready to order the off road x pipe as well. Thanks for this post!

Any issues with the clamp / compression fit leaking at all?

I dug a little deeper with the go pedal yesterday and youre right it does get noticeably louder. its a good mod. I now very much recommend. cant comment on borla, but i am impressed with the quality of the corsa. went on easy and the workmanship is far better than what is on the car stock.

Corsa's craftsmanship is definitely top-notch. The welds and construction quality are all very nice. Handing it felt like I had Thor's hammer in my grasp.
