Default C7 aftermarket gauge install

Any advice on a flush mount installation for an aftermarket boost gauge? Am trying to avoid a pillar mount, if possible. Thanks for your input....

Is it difficult to install a boost gauge? Not really sure what goes into the wiring of it. I have a Procharger and would like to install one as well.

I remember the buzz when GM accidentally released the c7 Interior pictures that had the boost gauge in the center display before the z06 had been announced. Im still hoping someone will figure out how to unlock this for those c7 owners who go FI with their cars.

Two boost gauges... Twin Turbo? LOL

What's the reasoning for a boost gauge on a SC car?
Once you know how much boost you're pulling, how's it going to help day to day?

It will give you an indication of how hard you are pushing the motor, although I can't say life would revert to the dark ages without it.

I have a pair of boost gauges in my offshore boat. (BBC, blowers, carburetors...old tech!). If I am stuck getting low octane fuel, I keep the motors out of boost by using the gauges. Nice, but than again I can get close by knowing when the secondary plates are engaged by throttle feel.

The Corvette's boost gauge is kind of like it's horsepower gauge...kind of neat to have, but...

To know if you have a boost leak, belt slipping, restrictor plate bypassed, if you go to a different altitude, etc. How much vacuum your car is making at idle is also good to know.

So I guess it would be a good diagnostic tool?

Very nice!

I am pretty sure LMR or mane VR did a setup where they put nitrous switches back there. Maybe they could chime in on how they accessed the box.

I can probably help you with that, or at least give you an idea of what's behind there. There have been a few people that wanted to do that, I think the last one that asked ended up doing his project successfully.

It's been a while, so I'll have to go pretty far back in my notes.

I'm almost positive you'd want to go through the side in your case, since the gauge will be snug to the wall. Not much room in the 'front' of the compartment for anything other than small wire leads.

I would love to find a way to put it on the existing dash screen digitally. Similar to the boost on the Z

Not possible with a locked BCM, but if it makes you feel any better, that gauge is generally only worth knowing if you're in boost or out of it (not very quick or accurate)... which you already should know from the blower/BOV sound.

For an accurate reading, it's still wise to have an electronic (or even mechanical if you want a fast needle sweep) gauge tied into the line.
