Hey guys. Having problems putting a methenol kit installed on my z51 c7. I didn't want to use the small 2 qt. Tank. Is there any spots that are good for the pump and say a bigger 4 qt tank or has anybody installed a tank in the little cubby hole in back? Does anybody make a specific in tank pump combo that fits in the cubby hole? Trying to keep things hidden...
This might not be the right way, but it works for me, I used the factory windshield washer tank for the meth system, because it has a low water indicator light and also holds over a gal. of meth. For the windshield washer tank, I went to O'reilly's and got a overflow tank and it holds 3qt's of washer fluid and it come with a mounting bracket that holds it in place. The only down fall is I will haft to loosen the inner finder well to add washer fluid, but shouldn't be to hard. But I don't see that a happening much, were I don't use the washer fluid that often. You can do this with any meth kit as far as I know, My kits is a Alky from ECS. And the meth is in a safe place.

May have to use the washer bottle.. I won't need a actual windshield fluid bc I don't hardly use it and it doesn't see any weather but sun shine. Thanks for the post.
Wonder if a remote fill can be done. I do this with the Taurus SHO whereby we have a small .5 liter bottle that is used to fill a 2qt under the frame. Then the factory motor is fed by the 2qt that has a sealed cap.

Whose kit did you get? Was it intended to go in the cubby?
Contact the supplier to make sure your doing what was intended with their system.
If this is something your piecing together.. thats a whole other issue.

Just remote mount a tank in the trunk... Depending on your setup and how much meth you use, you may want a bigger tank anyways. I know with the controller all the way up and two 15gph nozzles 1 gallon does not last long at all, a few good pulls... A buddy of mine and I have been buying Methanol in 55 gallon drums for a few years now.
Im a fan of this tank because it has provisions to mount the pump directly to it.

The only drama with having a pump mounted onto the tank is service in the future. At some point the pump will need to be freshened. This means now wrestling with a complete tank/liquid/wiring/etc to pull a simple pump. Mounting the pump in the cubby would be a better idea, and making sure the cubby has a hole in case it needs to drain from a leak or loose hose fitting.
Another point is all injection pumps at some point will develop a leak unless you are really religious on your service. Maybe its 5 years maybe its 2. If there was a leak and it happened under pressure inside the car it makes a real mess. Imagine a garden hose with a pin hole and full pressure.. methanol spraying inside the car on sensitive electronics or panels.
And then you have the filling issue and splashing on parts.. in the back of the car.
Factory C7 washer tank is over a gallon. Like 1.5 gallons. If the tank or pump leaks.. no biggie as its in a safe place.
There is no free lunch on things of this nature. Just make sure your making the proper decision for the proper outcome. This comes from someone whose spent a lot of time on this particular issue.

Good luck on your decisions..
I actually need to call you and order another pump. Its been 4 years, not leaking yet but I figure I should head it off. Julio's system works awesome, best available hands down.
If running a remote, trunk mounted tank.. Do you recommend leaving the pump on the frame rail up front and just running a feed line from the remote tank to it?

Two ways. If the line could be relatively straight and not pinched, either will work as the inlet is the lowest point of the car. I just have seen where rubber hose is used and then zip ties cause the hose to collapse and restrict flow to pump. Personally I prefer when the pump is simply closest to the tank.. best would be straight shot so PTFE hose can be used tank to pump.
Also make sure outlet is facing rear of tank, its vented outside the cockpit below the liquid height, and really strapped down so in the event of a head on collision it won't come flying at you creating additional drama.
I'm going with the washer fluid tank. For now anyway. Going see how it works on my car. Actually going get tuned tomorrow. Will post after weekend for results. Really hope someone comes out with a setup somehow.
It's really difficult in the rear unless it's a in tank pump/tank combo. The granny and diff coolers take alot of space in each side. It's a mystery. Unless Nobody wants to deal with it and just use washer tank
Here is the Alky kit I got from ECS, Its designed for the C7 and it plumbs straight to the windshield washer tank. It has all the fitting and hoses and the progressive controller, MAP sensor . Top of the line in my book.
here is the bracket i made, uses existing holes on the inside fender
and this is the fitting from devilsown as installed, wish it had a 90* on it, may modify if leaks
on3wego i did not see anything in that thread other than D/O stuff sitting in a box. any install pics? are you using their controller or adjusting for meth in the tune?

I was just refrencing the kit works. Helped make the numbers. And I do not have install pics at this time. I am using there controller. It sits in the center console. Easy to check regularly. Been set when I got tuned. I don't touch the *****
