Its a role pin and will lock the shaft when you bottom it out. For the run we have now, we have a coating on the turned part of shaft for the members that want to leave the hooks on.

Yes. I do have stock base grill. I just popped out of the small press panel to install the two hook. I agree the tow hook doesn't fit directly with base grille and I don't want Z06 grille.

Our tow hooks do fit in the Z51 grill, but you have to line up right and it will touch the grill.

Do not paint, we have shrink tube to go over the turned down part if you want to leave on. PM me and I will send you the mod.

Working on the rear foam insert now. Looks like we can rout out for our tow hooks in existing insert.
