I have a Trifecta tune in my stock 2015 C7 A8, tunes both the ECM and TCM. Trifecta sent to me the devise drivers, executing program, and the calibration (tune) over the Internet. I down loaded them into my laptop and from there into the car via the devise, which plugs into the cars OBIi outlet.
Excellent results -- throttle response, shifting, and feels like more pull, but have not got the car on a dyno as yet to verify. And dis-abled AFM, which is optional.
The car now operates like I envisioned, much more enjoyable experience.

ECS and Vengeance Racing. Can't go wrong with either choice!
Mike, nice results
Did you add your results to the 700 club thread? I'm sure with better air you'd be right there with me on post #78 of that thread.

I use DiabLew (06MonteSS on here) for remote tuning with my Diablo InTune handheld. I've been impressed with his work and response time. I definitely plan to continue using him!

Since you're in New Orleans I would consider LMR in Houston. I just had my car down there doing a cam and meth and they obviously tweaked the forced induction tune I already had and it's amazing how well the car is running now. It was a little jumpy when going into boost, basically I think the throttle body control was a bit more two position than linear.
I would consider LMR where you're located.

Our boy in Baton Rouge has his hands full right now so it's gonna be a couple months out for him

For remote tuning; diablew got back to me thru emails about my questions instantly, I was very happy with his customer service, however I went with another company mentioned that rarely tunes with Diablo I guess and Is the talk of the forum, and it's been a nightmare, 2 months now my car isn't running right and still has a cel for something he deleted, aswell as the complete opposite of diablew in terms of customer service,
So here's another vote for Diablew

I searched for this thread with no luck. Unless it was the one started by ECS?

It depends on the shop. Me personally, I did not want a shop that works on everything under the sun. I wanted a shop that specialized in LT1's. The most minor of mistakes on a tune can cause MAJOR problems. Ask any shop how many LT1's they have done and ask them to show you dyno sheets ask to speak to customers that have had their LT1's worked on by said shop.
Most tuners are legit but I know a couple tuners on here that I would not even let look at my car as their track record for LSx and LT1 cars has not been the best. 2 on here I know have blown up a few LSx cars by tuning too aggressively. They will say the owner wanted the tune "on the edge" but I believe a good tuner should refuse to do something they know will lean out the car too much.
A good tuner will stand behind their tune and if something bad happens, they often will help make it right. Obviously no tuner is going to foot the bill for a new motor but many will assist with labor costs.
