Default Recommended Speed Shops in Michigan?

Looking for some input on speed shops in the Metro Detroit area for my c7 z06/z07 A8. It seems that each one in the area consider themselves the best in the business and rarely have anything nice to say about their competitors. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I used livernois motorsports on my LS3 camaro(full engine build). They do a lot of cars, take a tour its pretty impressive. BUT they also cost the most over other shops.

Livernois is VERY EXPENSIVE... They do good work, but DON'T ever question or post negative things about them, even if they're true...

Depends on what you want done.

Engine work I would be more selective.

Putting on a super charger, anyone who can follow directions should be able to do it.

Tuning is another matter.

For an SC install I used Jakes Auto in Sterling Heights. They were inexpensive, did the job very quickly, and Dr Phil does their tuning.

I called a lot of shops about the SC install. Livernois gave me the most annoying answer. They wanted the car for 3-4 weeks for a job that takes 8 hours on the high side for a competent person to complete. They told me the work and tuning are scheduled separately so my car would sit for up to 10 days waiting for the tuning schedule. I even asked, why not schedule the tuner, then have me bring the car in 3-4 days ahead of time. They do not do that they said.

Jakes had the car done in 4 days, start to finish including tuning.

But that is a supercharger, with motor work I'd probably do a lot more looking into things.

How did the tune work out with them, they are not too far from me. I'm just looking to add a pulley set and a thermostat for now and of course a tune.

Katech would be good since they have built engine for GM race cars, but they don't have packages out for the Z06 yet.

Dr Phil does the tuning, he just does it at their shop and uses their dyno. He also does the tuning for a lot of other vendors.

Tuning was perfect. Almost 5000 miles since I picked it up 8 weeks ago.
