Installed a Magnuson Supercharger on a Z51...
Spent a few days to install a Magnuson supercharger. Great kit. Amazing instant power.
Wondering how many others have this kit installed?
Happy to answer questions for those thinking about it.

How was the install? It looks pretty straightforward. That's the sc I'm looking at too. Nicely done!

No other mods besides changing the grill to a Z06 grill. I really don't like the stock stingray grill.
No dyno. I'm just a weekend DIYer. The tune was supplied by Magnuson.
Feels great. Living in Colorado's higher altitude really impacts performance. Like 24% I read. This puts me back to some decent power. The problem now is getting the tires to grip. In cold weather the wheels just spin under anything over 1/2 throttle. But the power and sound are awesome. I'm looking forward to warm weather to really try it out. I don't want to end up in the ditch.

Overall very straight forward. Nothing you can't do yourself if you take your time. The instructions were the best. Every step very detailed with a photo for each step. 279 steps in all. That's how detailed. None of this "step 1 - remove engine, step 2...". The hardest part was to set the supercharger. It's reasonably heavy. The instructions show two guys setting it on. Yeah, I suppose. But the trick is it has to tuck under the cowl by the windshield. Holding it at a weird angle and not banging it into the intake might be tricky. I bought a $79.00 (use a coupon) overhead hoist from Harbor Freight to hold the weight while I easily positioned it. Was way easy that way.
The front bumper removal is not too bad if you figure out that the last part is to lift the bumper slightly and loosen the two bolts on the remaining bracket. The instructions show this. If you try to just pry it off might end badly. How many times do we pull on something and the damn plastic clip breaks ruining an expensive part. The only part in the instructions that needs updated is they show removing the wheels and wheel liners to remove the bumper. NOT needed and adds a-lot of unnecessary work. They should remove those 10 steps.
The stock tune they provided has the cooling fan running all the time. IMO that’s not needed. If the ECT is maintaining, I don’t need the fan roaring. They modified it for me and that resolved that. They have been very responsive with tunes - typically same day.

If you end up doing this, let me know and I'll give you a couple tips. One for those brackets which I would have done different than the instructions and one for the vent hose that goes to the rocker cover.

That is awesome, I too am in Colorado and have been debating on the Edlebrock, Mag or Twin Turbos. I would love to know how much you paid and who you ordered from if you wouldn't mind PMing me.

A maxed reved 2.3 blower can make 800 to 850rwhp.... Just got to get fuel to it.....
Those intercoolers are much bigger than my lt4 setup... Heard the iats are around 10 degrees cooler on the Maggie setup, I can see why...

Oh, and since it uses the stock pulley, no under the car work or removing the steering rack. That's fine for shops with lifts. I did the entire thing on the car dollys shown in the pics. You only need to get under the front to remove the front dirt shield and mount two radiator brackets.

I'll definitely take you up on that offer though if I do go that route, thanks!

What do you think it better to go with magnuson or Ecs with 700 to 750whp and for top end power

For example a given D1/Ti/novi 1500 from the big 3 are all 1400 cfm blowers... The Eaton 2300 is 1400 as well..
Personally if I wanted to make more than 800-850rwhp I would go centri.... Under that a PD

750rwhp is 750rwhp no matter how you look at it... Just a different way of delivery... Years ago PD blowers were not as efficient and heat soaked BAD.... That's not really the case as much anymore ...

That's bc they don't compare compressors to one another correctly.. Take a novi 2200 or vortech YSI vs a 2300... Sure it will have more topend from the centri due to the cfm the blower can move... BUT that's only when you start pushing them into the 850+rwhp range where the 2.3 is not capable of pushing enough CFM

Idk if magnuson is the better move
