Default New software upgrade for A8

I was told over the weekend by a Corvette specialist mechanic at a Chevy dealership, who also owns 2 Corvettes including a 2016 A8, that there is a new software upgrade for the A8 transmission that has become available very recently.

I am not sure if it applies only to A8s in 2016 Corvettes or if it applies to all A8s.

Worth looking into.

I don't think he's coming back guys. Called my dealer and they knew nothing about it.

Bummer. OK, thanks for the update.

Anyone else have a harsh shift from 3rd to 4th at WOT? That is the only issue I've been having with my A8 in my C7Z

I was at the dealer this morning getting my park brake module reprogrammed and asked about the software update for the A8 in my '16 Z06. They looked it up and told me there is No update in the system at this time.

Isn't there an update for all A8's produced before April 15 that came out mid-last year?

I have an A8 that was built in early 15, but have not had mine updated as I think it shifts pretty damn good. I do notices shifting changes depending on how I drive it, as it adapts to recent inputs from my "foot"!

I expect to speak with the mechanic at his dealership next week and will report findings.

Same here, early build 15, no problems, shifts great, no updates done. I was told if it functions fine don't update.

I am pretty sure on my 2015 A8 there was an update for the tranny to fix hard shifts. I have since updated to a 2016 in a new color but would still like more info on this to see if its a newer update.

Default A8 software upgrade

Have your dealer check for TSB GM-14-07-30-001E

There are earlier versions with suffixes A-D

It is supposed to alter the shifting program to eliminate hard shifting. Mine is better after the work was done.

To fine tune, a series of single gear drives at certain MPH is needed. For example - drive 5 miles in 3rd gear at 35 MPH. I have not tried this yet.
