Default Making of LT4 - LT4 vs LT1

Mods - I posted this mistakenly in the Gen Discussion. Please feel free to delete it from Gen Discussion section.

I posted this article on another forum back on Jan 1st. Not sure if it's been copied over to this forum. Anyways, it's an out of publication magazine, so there should not be an issue with copyrights (mods, if it is, please remove post).
I see a lot of discussions between people over LT1 & LT4. This article goes into detail as to the differences between a supercharged vs NA engine for C7.

The discussion starts half way thru the article, so read on...
Hope some of you find it interesting.

Thanks for posting this. Very helpful, and excellent information I could not find anywhere else.

I was thinking about supercharging my LT1 2015 Stingray Z51. But reading through this, I am now thinking it would be worth the trade in on a Z06 with the LT04.

Having an engine engineered top to bottom and a car engineered front to back to handle the added horse power sounds more appealing to me!

As much as I love the idea of the power (and dread the idea that this kind of power may be legislated out or Insuranced out in the near future) I am not a fan of having to pull the engine apart each time I use it.

I like the Lt4 a lot! With just a few mods and you get major increases
with everything no less for wear.

Like 45-50 rwhp form the Halltech intake.
Then another 35rwhp from AR 2 inch coated Headers and tune.
Around 10-15rwhp from the Mamo throttle body with even bigger increase in the midrange along with cleanup of the off idle.
Those few mods give you close to 100 rwhp over stock and the car is flawless.
