Yep, it's a '19, which has '17+ cooling improvements, as well as few other changes that happened in '18/'19 models (slightly bigger cooler reservoir, bigger radiator, etc.). We'll see how it keeps up with the heat next summer : )

I have no idea. I reverted it back to stock as much as I could.

hmmm I wonder how far from stock you'd have to go to beat the stock Z.

It is 2019 Z06 M7 2LZ w/ Z07, Suede-interior, Comp seats, Black wheels.
  • Almost stock: I want to keep this very close to stock. So far, I have only procured:
    • BMS air filter,
    • B.C Forged Wheels 18x11F 18x12.5R,
    • Granatelli toe links,
    • Sharkbar,
    • BK harness tabs
    • Full set of Z06 iron brakes w/ Girodisc rotors
  • DSC or not: I got the Z06/Z07 model, since it is the only model in the lineup (don't know ZR1) that comes with the much stiffer front springs at 190 N/mm (vs. 117 N/mm of Z06 and all GS models). This, combined with Hoosiers at 315 up front, I think could work very well. Perhaps some time later, I could try the DSC, too, and those with Z07 said it made it better (but this was for models before the magna ride software refresh), so there's that. Here's hoping someone would compare track experience on 2019+ or upgraded software model with DSC's.
Looking forward to testing it out at the track!

Congrats on the new car!!

I'm sure you know this already but DSC still doesn't work with 2019s and above last I heard (it breaks PTM)

Thanks, it's been finally delivered! Yep, I know about the issues with DSC on 2019 cars. I don't really intend to test it out anytime soon, anyway. Perhaps never : )

I've been thinking about it, but it'd definitely be shorter than this one : ) Perhaps it'd be good; I'd love to show that the sky doesn't fall down for cars with CCBs, when you use OEM Z06 brakes with good rotors (sam size as AP, mind you) at the track.

I look forward to following the thread regardless of how in-depth you get. This current thread was very informative and just plain enjoyable to read. Good luck with the Z!!

Alright, I'll start a new thread. I'm sure it will be shorter, but I suppose no harm would be done.

I already have a bit of a material; took quite a few pics as I removed the CCB brakes, last night : )

My daughter also agrees.

While at it, I've also decided to add vented seats. I love it at my truck, and it turns out I love it on a Corvette, too!

there is a reason race cars are white.... white makes it easier to spot leaks, cracks and damage...... nice upgrade though

Indeed, it showed everything! They only thing that worked well in cleaning all that rubber was oil. I either used WD-40, or kitchen oil when it was not available (like at my brother's house) to clean up all that rubber before trading in the car.

The one time a year I wash my car I use Mothers R3 (race rubber remover) it works very well.

the rest of the year it's filthy. Never really care too much as the car isn't street driven and at the end of the day it's just a corvette.

Whenever I mention Corvette, the shop owner that I work with for my Miata keeps saying "it's just a Chevy!" : ))

I had no tune. Since the filter changes the way MAF reads air flow, the PCM underestimates the air by about 5%, which in turn causes the car to run about 5% leaner! Since these cars are believed to be running 8-10 % richer than optimal, you end up adding quite a bit of power, while retaining your stock tune : )

FYI, gains are even higher for LT4. This engine (my '19 Z06) is stock except BMS filter:

Do you think someone could run a 275/315-315Square or a 315/335 rival set up on a narrow c7?
