Default 275/35/18 & 305/30/19 on stock wheels. Pictures.

As an experiment prior to committing to the purchase of wider wheels, I decided to mount my new tires on a set of spare stock '15 C7 wheels. Just to make sure that the clearances are going to be Ok with the wider wheels.

Car is fully lowered on stock bolts and equipped with aFe swaybars, Z51 shocks, running -1.3 degree camber all around. Tires are the Bridgestone RE-71, the stickiest road tires (non R compound) presently available. 275/35/18 F and 305/30/19rear.

As shown in the pictures, the tires tuck nicely under the fenders with zero fender touch following a 45 miles drive over a variety of roads, including bumps and dips that really worked the range of the suspension. Following a thorough scrub-in, I leaned on the tires quite a bit for the last 10 miles at my local tight canyon roads. In the process I improved my recorded cornering speeds over a high speed "S" section by a comfortable 3 MPH, compared to the Michelin stock tires with more to go. These tires STICK!

As I carefully built up the speeds, handling traits were pretty much the same as with the stock Michelins. Slight understeer with the option to steer the back-end with the throttle. No oversteering tendencies observed.

No problems with the different tire stagger (fronts are the same as factory diameter but, rears are about 0.5" smaller in diameter. New TPMS registered after a few miles.

Installing these tires on stock rims, which are 0.5" narrower than the recommended minimum, does slightly pinch the sidewalls. However, given the ultra stiff sidewalls on this tire, the contact patch was perfect, indicating absolutely no rolling over of the tire during hard cornering. Some people actually autocross these sizes and stock wheels combo without any problems.

Edit:Sorry for the 90-degree shifted images, if someone can rotate them, please do so.

Couple of more pictures to show the amount of sidewall "pinch" for fitting these oversized tires onto the stock wheels.

Thanks for posting this. I plan on running Nitto NT05Rs in 305/35R19 on my stock wheels. This is helpful.

Car looks bad *** lowered. What's the difference in ride quality? (I DD mine.)

Ride quality and noise quality is very close to the stock Michelins. Remember, these are not the super stiff runflats. If I did not know that I had new tires I would not have noticed noise or ride differences. I could easily see DD this combo.
