Default 2014 Chevy Corvette convertible...flood vehicle

So I own a small dealership in Flint, MI and I have been wanting a new corvette convertible for a while. I came across a 2014 C7 LT3 with a Louisiana flood title. being sold by state farm insurance, says loss occured about 3 months ago, only two pictures of interior and neither show any sign of any water entering the inside of the car. Exterior pictures also show the car looking like new with less than 5k miles. I'm starting this thread to document the journey I'm about to start with this car, I purchased after hastily looking at only 4 exterior pics and 2 interior pics, I won the online dealers auction for $23,000 shipped...

I already purchased a new ecm, bcm, and 2 new transmitter key fobs...
Hopefully my Panasonic Toughbook & GM MDI 2 can handle any issues I may have.....

I will be posting daily updates for before and after results, any good trouble shooting advice and GM tech wisdom would be greatly appreciated Thanks in Advance...

I literally thought I was reading my own thread there for a second. I've put about 1300 miles on my "flood car" so far. Any questions let me know and I'll be happy to help.

i replaced both power seat modules and switches, everything worked after reprogramming other than the motor that moves the seat forward and back on both seats was bad, they move up and down and recline without issue, luckily there is no backseat to worry about so im not messing with them for now, my seats are both in good spots so im saving that for a later time when i get bored and want to mess with them, plus they are somewhat expensive. Are you having any luck with your BCM and getting your key fobs to recognize?

Well I replaced the ECM and BCM, and the ECM was a piece of cake to reflash and program, but the bcm on the other hand, is giving me a hard time my MDI 2 says no communication, it will not let me immobilize the ignition so I can program new key transmitters...

I am having the exact same issue with my driver seat it will not let me recline back so if I purchase new seat control modules and switched, do you think that will solve my issue?

Funny. I live in Louisiana and was told by State Farm that due to a Louisiana law after Katrina, any car totalled due to flooding had to be destroyed and could never be put back on the road. I couldn't buy back my cars from the insurance company (flooded August 2016). Food for thought on your situation and the cars history.

Well in the state of Michigan it's entirely different, once you repair the vehicle and make it road ready once again, the vehicle is inspected and issued a rebuilt title...

But Thanks for your concerns its Highly Appreciated.

Well I finally got the vehicle to turn over and run, but because of the theft deterrent system the vehicle will not stay running still having an BCM issue.

All flood cars from Louisiana come with a certificate of destruction title.
That is a state law, however other states do not have to abide by that law. My 2015 Wrangler was a Louisiana flood car that never got flooded but did come with a COD title. It was purchased for $9900 and the only $$$ spent was to get it titled. We drove it home after purchase.

We have driven it 19000+ miles with zero issues. You just have to be careful and buy one that didn't get wet. Buy one that was just included in the settlement with all of the dealers cars that did get damaged.

There is a yellow Rubicon on ebay now that I missed by $2. He is asking $19000, doubling his money.
