For what GM says on it but I just don't like it running that warm. I did a Dewitt rad with a LMR housing & a 160 in it, Plus running 100% EVAN waterless in it. Now I am running 195 deg with all of that in it on a hot day with the air going. Plus have all the LG a6 trans cooling stuff to lower the trans temps even the a6 trans pan.
Now with the blower on the car with the Dewitt rad on the car. The stock fans will not work with the A/A blower on the car on the intake pipe hitting it big time. So I got a aftermarket fan set up from Sales@edgvette for me. Now we will se what that is going to do. Buddy a very nice piece and works very good. Man I can believe I have been working on my set up for 3 months now. It is always something or something new all the time... Robert

I'm impressed that they got the data in a playable mp4 file, that you can play on a standard media player, and then bring the same file into Toolbox and grab all the data. The PDR and Toolbox software is very impressive.

my 2014 used to sit at 220 all day no matter what before I put a 160 thermostat in it then it sat at 175 all day.
the 2015 got a change to the cooling system, many people started reporting temps closer to 195-200 and sure enough, my 2016 and now 2017 Z06's run around 200 most of the time (of course it still not all the way hot). I'm sure I will put in a thermostat on this one too.

Stock my 14 Z51 ran 220 in SOCAL heat. From the desert here, death valley to Vegas. 220, with the AC. NEVER over. OIL Temps vary between 210-220. Add headers, procharger, and a bevy of other things (fuel, intake etc) and usually 220. A few times going HARD for miles in heat I've seen 225ish. If oil goes over (it has a few times) 220 I cut power and drive easy till it cools. I have a stock thermostat and a dewitts radiator.

Hopefully, the Stingray/Z51 owners are using the Tour Display digital gauge to read coolant temps Vs the analog gauge in the lower right corner of the IP. The analog gauge isn't necessarily very accurate and is only useful to determine cold, warm and hot.
There is no reason to cut power and drive slow if oil temperature exceeds 220 degrees. On track at near wide open throttle or wide open power for 15 to 20 minutes at a time oil temps will run into the high 260s/low 270s without being a problem. Start being concerned when oil temp exceeds 280.
Coolant temps in the high 210s or low 220s are normal as well. Thermostats provide a minimum temperature floor and have nothing to do with how high the temperature can get. Don't pop a gasket when you see these temperatures. You aren't driving a 1960s technology engine that pucks coolant every time the coolant temperature goes over 220 degrees.

The 2014 (and maybe some 2015s?) have a BUG with the analog gauge where the dial just sits at 220 once the engine is "warm" but the digital gauge will confirm its actually running 20 degrees cooler at 190-200 in normal driving.
My engine (water) temp will reach 215 on the track with oil getting to around 260.

I have a 2016 Z51 with the LT4 blower making 600 rwhp and live in New Mexico (Northern part of the state). I drive my vette all year, and in the cold months I'll see anything from 175 to 200 depending how much I push the car. Summer Temps with city driving can range from 204 - 222. They cool to about 203 once I hit open road. What I have a hard time with are my IAT's which considering still are reasonable. Cruising I'll average about 140 -150. My temps will drop under boost to right around the 120 mark. Again depends on what time of year.

I have a 2016 Camaro 2SS that's pretty stock and that one in town during the summer months will cruise around 175 - 200 degrees. On open road it stays right around 175.
