The truth about main cat deletes?
So I was planning on buying a set of main Cat delete pipe either off the member here or I see AFE makes them now. The reviews I have read so far seem pretty good and I'm a fan due to the easier installation since I like to do almost all my own work. I already have a Corsa X and Extreme X back. Now the question is how much power am I leaving on the table by not going with long tubes. Car is a 15' Z. Current mods are exhaust/Halltech/ported TB/LMR HX/Tank. *awaiting install*IW 18 lower/e85 kit/tune. Future has me thinking of a 2.9 Whipple if I keep the car long enough. Thoughts?

The results I've seen, added to the results of a catless X-pipe, come out to be nearly identical to full headers.
I can't find the AFE set you mentioned. Mind linking?

Heck, even removing secondary cats is probably illegal, but the main ones do the heavy lifting, let them live!
If it's about sound, that may be the only way you can get a full race sound though. But if it's about power, there are other ways. Just an opinion, not an indictment.

I kind of have to agree on this. There are other ways to go faster that don't make your car smell, aren't blatantly illegal, and so on.

At that price though, I'll wait for China to knock it off...

I'm following the whipple closely if it ever comes out. But what does that have to do with this. Could I really push 800+hp out of the stock manifold's and cats? that's a Real Question. I am Pretty confident I would need to remove the restriction before replacing the blower.

I thought you had to get dummy plugs for the O2 sensors?
