Cheapest way for louder exhaust?
I want my exhaust to be louder but dont want to do mufflers or headers so I guess my best option would be the borla x pipe? I have NPP and currently have the fuse pulled.
Is it worth it or should I just stay stock?
I had a 2011 GS and did the whole kooks header/mid pipe and wasnt all that impressed and I also had alot of exhaust leak.
If i did the borla is it a nice fit to where it shouldnt leak?
Thanks

I have NPP car with LT headers, with 3 inch mid x pipe with no back cats on the car, also have Borla ATKA NPP cat back on the car also. With all of this it is not much louder than what it was as stock. YES TO ME FOR THE SOUND ONLY HERE ON MY PART IT WAS A WASTE OF GOOD MONEY.
Do this on your part cut the full mufflers from under your car & have a pipe welded into it place. Do a search in here a few guys have done it & sounded great. Robert

That's exactly what I'm planning to do, just have the resonators replaced with straight pipes. I just want mine a tad louder.
Any links to what parts are needed or the size pipe that will work? I can weld it myself.

First I gutted the rear cats, not much change in sound. But then I put on the main cat delete pipes WOW! Much MUCH louder! Now it's either too quiet (with stock muffler butterflies closed), or too loud with them open.
Seriously, it's like open headers (but at the back of the car) loud.

Borla X catless pipe all the way. Had the chance this past weekend to trade cars with my buddy for a hundred miles enroute to a show. His car is a gorgeous black Z51 stingray with stock exhaust in track mode. Could not believe the difference between the two cars- mine is a GS in track mode ALL THE TIME with otherwise stock exhaust. Best $500 I've ever spent and had my tech install it during an oil change.

Borla X pipe with rear cat delete to me is the perfect sound. Not to much and NO drone on my Z. At the track at WOT it is so friggin loud and so noticeable over stock its hard to talk even with helmet headsets.

Our Throttle Controller will also help make your exhaust sound different at higher settings
By installing the Controller, you're making the Throttle Body blade open a lot faster and that translates to more air volume going in and out of the engine: Your exhaust will sound different.

Depends if you want healthy or annoying. An NPP car with a midpipe that removes the secondary cats is loud enough for me and still lacks drone - you can hear some in V4 mode now that I didn't notice before the Corsa pipe.
If you don't care whether it retains the ability to stay quiet, then you can look at LT headers and removing the primary cats for track use. That will be substantially louder.
It'll never (thankfully) sound like an old Nova with glasspacks and dumps, though.

Cheapest:
First, pull the fuse on your NPP if you have it.
1) muffler delete - most sound increase
2) "off-road" x-pipe; Borla or Corsa. Straight replacement. Some sound change. I did this first with stock NPP. Yes, it was louder but not enough for me.
3) hacksaw secondary cat replacement with straight pipe or other pre-mad similar solution. It would be a cheaper version of #2 above.
I was not happy until I did ARH mid-lengths with cats, off-road x-pipe, and Borla Atak NPP.

wonder if this would help with 60 foot time at the drag strip when I race
any more details?

I installed this one this evening.

Easy, everything lined up and no issues at all. It's barely different at idle or slow moving but when you get on the throttle it really sounds great! It definitely picked up a few ponies also!
Very happy with it and after a few hours of driving it's getting slightly louder at slow driving speeds.
