Default Upgrading HMI in 2014-2015

I know most people here probably dont care, but I really got attached to my Android Auto in my previous car and Id kinda like to have it back. Ive seen where you can upgrade the HMI for like 1500 or something. Seems steep, but im guessing that the whole interface moves a lot faster and would let me use my phone like I used to.

Has anyone else done this? What was your experience. If anyone has an upgraded one that they regret buying, would you consider selling?

If you could mirror Waze I'd be in like a dirty shirt. I just don't use Google maps much...

Yeah,. Makes it affordable for me. I would like to have Android Auto in my 2014 C7. But $1500 is too high.
I would like to find detailed instructions for installation. I wonder if I would need to run their gps antenna if my car already has navigation? That would make installing a lot easier.

I emailed the seller about specifics for installation in my 2015 vette with factory nav and PDR. The price seems interesting if it adds android auto to the existing system without significant side effects. Will see where this goes.

Let us know what they say about the installation.
From what i've read, they re-program the newer HMI box to work in a 2014-2015 C7.
But if you ever have to take your car to a dealer, if he flashes it with the correct firmware, you could lose android auto and be back to stock?

The 2014s had HD Radio and could pause and rewind radio. However, it is much slower, and like you said, no Android Auto.

Since I literally never listen to broadcast radio, I wouldn't be missing much (if I were to upgrade the HMI in my '14), but for those who do, HD radio is a definite improvement over analog broadcast.

When the 2017 parts started to come available, one of these vendors listed the new HMI with NAV. I inquired if the 2017 part would work in the 2014 & 15. My theory was that the 2017 had newer maps. They pointed me to the 2016 units they sell but did not answer my question if the 2017 units would work or not. I get the felling they just wanted to use their inventory of 2016 parts first but I don't know.

I only bring this up as 2018 will bring back HD radio. So if the 2018 could work, you would get the newest maps, newest hardware and HD radio too. Plus I understood that the newer HMI modules were faster and not as laggy.

I just got a couple of emails from Digital Solutions. Some of the settings in the radio would be different.

"You have a z51 package and since they made changes to that package in 2016 you probably won’t have control over your NPP exhaust and Drive mode if you upgrade."

I have now emailed them 3 times about this system and installing it in my 2015 Z06. They only answered once with a simple link to the original ebay listing. Not a single question answered. The following 2 emails I sent for follow up have gone completely unanswered.

Screams scam or worse to me. Seemed too good to be true so it likely is. I wish others luck if they decide to pursue anyway.
