Default Infotainment needs replaced

Hello All!

I have seen some similar threads about screens needing to be replaced after they started flickering, however it seems most people were under warranty when that happened. Dealer said the screens for the '14s are on back order and would cost around $700 + about 400 in labor.

I knew it would be expensive but not THAT expensive. I just wanted to hear your guy's thoughts on if this info was correct and if I had any other options.

Thanks!

Grand Sport? If so you can join the Grand Sport Registry and get parts for cost + 10%. Might help?

WoooooW that's allot I paid about $68 in labor.
for the screen it was from a scrap car that was involved in a high speed accident it was about $137

Don't get the 2014 one it will later have the same problem get a 2015+

Most 2014 owners here in Qatar with imported US vettes and dealer vettes have the same issue & the dealer doesn't cover it over here.

Buy a new using a 2015+ VIN or find a 2015 crashed car and get it.

It's very simple swap removing the dash is a bit hectic took me and the guy about an hour to figure it out and just 15 min putting it back.

there is a youtube video on how to remove the dash as well.

If you create some stink with the dealer and GM customer service you may be able to get them to goodwill the repair since it's a known flaw in the 2014's. I did that with Honda on my S2000 way back when and it was eventually covered in full.

Will the 2015+ screens fit in the 2014? The dealer seemed to think that it wouldn't.

Yes it will fit. I had mine replaced (14) and they used the new model. Mine was backordered months ago and took about 2 months to get in. When they replace it they actually replace the whole cubby unit and not just the screen that goes up and down on the front of the unit.

Thats exactly what I did & saved loads of money from getting a special order for a new 2014 screen

It comes with the whole motor and box assembly

Mine was from a scrap car so the motor and the sliding mechanism was rusted and I didn't want to take chances I removed the screen and replaced just the screen until now It's just perfect
