Default Flush your brake fluid!!!

Hi,

I'm taking my 8k mile '14 Z51 Vert on the NCRS Road Tour to the national convention in San Antonio in a few weeks and was "putzin" around looking to see if there was anything else to deal with.

I could not believe the color of the brake fluid, it was dark, I mean dark amber.
I'm sure it would have been fine but I decided to flush it out.
I put in Dot 3, good enough for factory good enough for me.

Its funny, we change the oil way before its needed, put 15 coats of wax on it religiously, worry about every nuance of the car and the thing that keeps us safe we pass on. Ironic!

Piece of mind. (now lets hope for no flats)

Pete

Would have been find. All of these so called preventative maintenance functions can induce failures that would never happen otherwise. If it isn't broken let it alone.

Some people never change their brake fluid and get away with it although it should be changed about every two to three years. It definitely is down to it's wet boiling point by that time. Here is why it should be changed.
