Have you tried cleaning them with some brake clean? Interesting..

Mine have done this too. I called Powerstop and they sent me free replacements. I haven't bothered switching. Great idea trying brake clean.

My Z51 was brown after the first wash on Z51 pads. After 200miles I change it to Z23 and been brown for 4000 miles and over a year. I live in a foggy place. Might be the moisture. And my rotors is way more browner than yours. I will take a picture later.

Mine turn brown like that after I wash the car (and wheels) and they dry. After first ride, the rust color totally disappears and does not return until next wash. Z26 pads. I leave in the heart of the Florida Humid Inferno and humidity dies not seem to have that effect.

It must be high humidity, after 8,000 miles my rotors never turned brown using Z26 pads. Also never get any brake dust. They do turn rusty after I wash the rims but after a few stops the rust goes away.

It is not rust and it has to be some thing in the pads transferring on to the rotors. There has been comments about too much copper in the pads. I cleaned and removed to brown stain with sandpaper put the old dusty factory back on and no brown stains on the rotors after 500 miles. I have been contact with Powerstop but the tech guy is on vacation .

My Z 26's don't do that, but even if they did, I would rather have brown rotors than filthy wheels covered with brake dust. Best change so far on my 16 Z51.

All this mixed feedback on rotor discolouration, I have a brand new set of z26 power stops but after reading this I don't want to install them. So frustrating!
I thik I'll go Carbotech

Beats me, but it's rather amusing! I have a few thousand miles on my Z26 pads and my rotors looks just like brake rotors. They definitely aren't brown or tinted anything other than "used rotor silver" with usage ranging from roadtrips, city driving, and very aggressive high-heat stops from well above 100 MPH (about 160 is the fastest I've applied these pads at).
