I have had some big cams in cars before and still they dont just stall out at a redlight unless you did something to cause it to hisitate, like to much clutch not enough RPm, or something. the stage 3 stuff i have seen is not to radical really. Not like a magic stick 4 in a 346 ls1 haha. That plan sucks

The GenV ecu does a pretty damn good job at stall management. As long as the fuel trims are on point.

Ok, car is done for the moment. Other then a 160 thermostat they forgot to install.....

It put down 505rwhp / 474 rwtq when it was done. Not bad for a 93 daily driver NA car, it pulls good up top. Drives SUPER easy like no bucking at all which is surprising, could have went bigger....ha But makes for a nice driver for sure. can even hold 7th at 55mph with out bucking so that's impressive.

Made a quick walk around at lunch since it was clean, and warmed up.

My bad that is what i ment "stock". but just asked the tuner to be sure and:

6600 is stock fuel cut in gear, and its now at 6800, so raise it 200 rpm
Peak power was @ 6400 RPM.

Out of gear fuel cut is still 6600 (stock).

Can you guys give me a ballpark price on what you're paying for a cam swap? If I don't sell the car by spring I'm debating doing a N/A build. Nothing crazy maybe cam and heads. Already have headers and tune. Thanks.

I priced a few places around the south east.

vengence was 4900
MTI in GA was 4000 ish
LSXperts was simalar

Bryant Brothers did mine 4213 out the door. (local to me and I know and trust there tuner.)
Car had intake and headers on it when I dropped it off.

hoping it gets its over 500rwhp, good lope at idle, and drives decent.
I had a TSP Stage III H/C kit & it was a PITA to get the VVT/cam phaser tables tuned. This was in 2015, so I think everyone was still green on tuning these motors.

Once that got sorted, I loved it.

Until a valve spring broke at VIR.

TS balked at the issue, then admitted they had been having issues with the cheap Chinese springs they had been supplying.

They did the right thing and repaired/replaced the damaged/broken pieces (I think we went with PRC springs IIRC), and I've had no problem in +/- 30 track events since.

Nevertheless, I ate about $2500 in labor & towing, plus the lost track time.

Bottom line, whomever you go with, make sure you get the best valve train components you can afford, and know exactly what you are getting.
