Default Questions on 418 Upgrade to stock motor

I discovered a high amount of metal on my drain plugs in my last oil change. My car was the victim of failed valve springs on my head and cam package. It resulted in multiple broken inner springs. The heads were replaced with new castings and all new upgraded springs, it had several oil changes to try and flush out the metal. Unfortunately there is still metal in the motor and parts of the springs have floated to the magnets.

I have sent my oil out for analysis but I suspect internal damage has occurred in the bearings, so if I am going to go to the lengths to repair the damage I was thinking about going all the way to a stroker. I track the car so I am a big fan of NA.

How much more power is realistic with a stroker, and is it worth it? Or am I better off just freshening the motor and stay with the stock displacement?

I like my 331 Ford.

I like boost too, though.

Edit: It's going to depend on the package, but I certainly would vote for stroker. So long as you can afford it and any required supporting modifications.

600rw plus shouldn't be that hard. I am 560-570's just H/C with an A8 on a stingy dyno. Cam is pretty tiny.

They were apparently a known weak point, the manufacturer replaced the heads with new castings, but unfortunately there may have been more damage done. They offered to freshen the motor so I am thinking of going with an upgrade. The springs had less than 12k miles on them.

Upgrades are PAC 660's not sure on what was in there, but I know there is some litigation pending. I want to stay neutral....

Give BTR vendor in here a call on the springs & head set up. Brian is the man when it comes to head set up and cams. Robert

The car has new springs and new castings already, all issues appear to be fixed. It is running great and made big power on the dyno.
