A few questions Eddie/Ben. (Or anyone else)

1) Is 15x10 the ideal size for cars making good power? Would a 15x10.5 or 15x11 work on a Z51 or does the larger tire need a slightly skinnier wheel to fit under our fenders?

2) When are bead locks necessary? At nearly double the price, thats a big difference!

Thanks!

As long as you have the drivetrain upgrades to support it (upgraded axles/built diff/clutch if M7) the 15" drag conversion is the way to go for low speed traction. The 10" wheel width is what both the Stingray and Z06 guys use usually use with a M/T 275 X Pro radial. The width is not needed as much because the taller sidewall allows for "squat" making larger contact patch when launching. The 275 will fit the Stingray, but it is going to fill it out. IMO 15" drag conversions on the C7's is an intimidating/good look.

Personally I would do the beadlocks if you are going to run 15's, especially if you have a stalled converter or a big torque hit down low. I've heard of 600whp cars spinning the wheel inside of the tire, granted that could have been due to not cleaning the wheel/tire mounting wax off before setting the bead. Cars that have turbo setups or procharger's with the tq/hp hitting hard up top will most likely be fine without beadlocks, and weld can always add them after the fact if you do decide you want them later.

Thanks for the answers! I'm at 834/760 on an M7, still on stock axles and diff though. I'm currently running on 285/40R18 MT ET Street S/S radials and I know those are pretty hard on the drivetrain. One good thing is I am running a centri so the low end torque hit isn't too bad. I would think the softer tire though might be more gentle on the diff verses the DR's when they hook. Will be considering a 15" conversion closer to spring time.

Thanks!

For sure.

We go offer upgraded E-Diff's for $1600 plus your core as well. You won't break one of those. LOL just something to keep in mind for the future.

No, unfortunately 95% of the time they are not able to be rebuilt.

Default ttt

Eddie will the S71 bead lock 17 inch, fit on the back of the z51 brake set up without any problems. We can go with a wide offset due to me putting the z06 wide body front & rear fenders on my car if that will help any to make it look better plus getting the rim out more..Robert

Even with the 17's you have to run the drag kit conversion which includes the smaller brakes. If you were to do the drag conversion we can certainly fill out the width for the widebody though.

Yes sir. We can do our upgrade on both, or we can replace the diff with a Wavetrac unit.

I snapped a couple pics of this beautiful ZR1 right before the rain hit us at the Wanna Go Fast 1/2 mile event in Indiana. IMO this is probably the looking ZR1 I've seen to date.

I use 18mm spacers in the rear and 13mm spacers in the front with longer studs for full thread engagement. I currently run GM CUP wheels which are the same as the new Grand Sport wheels 19" fronts and 20" rears.

Please let me know.

Thanks

What does your non-wavetrac diff upgrade consist of? (Sorry I know thats a bit off topic)
