aFe also makes an oil free replaceable not cleanable filter, which I assume GM would use (for retained ongoing consumable sales!) which aFe says is less of a flow increase. They had published a comparison oiled versus paper, but hard to find that flow number now!

Did you have to tune your car after this was installed? I am throwing an engine light after PTB and BMS white filter on my 16z automatic

No, I called aFe prior to the install and they said not needed the existing air/fuel MAP will adjust itself and is broad enough to cover the change needed. Might take 100 miles or so but never had a CEL.

I was using the aFe for 2 1/2 year in my LT1 in my Z51 and now 8 months in my LT1 on my Grand Sport. Others have also reported using the product with no problem.

Expect if I lived in Denver might be close to the limits but the MAP has to be able to go from sea level to Denver etc!

Someone who removed the filter had a problem! The MAF sensor is close to the filter and it appears a filter is needed to avoid turbulence in that area giving poor air flow signals. Wonder if you created an issue after your install?

I would reach out to the vendor you got the PTB from and discuss the CEL with them. They'll likely get you a replacement.

Does anyone know if this factory performance intake system is available as of 3-23-18?
Also has anyone verify that this intake does indeed include a dealer tune?
thanks in advance.. Rich

Injen's intake is nothing more than an inferior technology AFE rip-off. They were OK at filters on a stick for Civics, at best (even then, got beat by AEM).

Id call and verify tho. Because the price seems a little on the less expensive side to have had that technology to be packaged with it.

A "tuned MAF section" means they sized the intake pipe correctly to not throw a check engine light or run overly rich/lean.

After several calls to my local Chevy parts department since April 9 this year ( That was the rumor I read P/N 84152141 would be available for purchase) only to have the parts guy tell me that could find that number in the computer system, but its not available to order. However today when I made my routine call anticipating I would get the same disappointing reply he said " How many do you want to order"? Just one please I said. He said no one had it locally and it may take a week or two to get. Heck I have been waiting for months, so not a concern for me. Plopped the visa on the counter, he filled out a special order form, 625.00 but with tax it was 683.00 I think. However, this is still not known if a remapping ecu of the MAF would be required or not, If this would void factory warranty or not, ( Could I install this myself or dealer install for keep warranty intact or not) or if so would be included with this price of the kit. He said there was no notes in the system about it and it look like it would be shipped from the GM vendor directly, perhaps their would be further instructions included in the box, if a coding would be necessary and the cost. So yes, I am indeed a idiot, buying without knowing what else may be involved, but I may be the first in Houston to have one. Of course I will post more news about it once it arrives, (if it ever does).

It is two weeks as of today that the part was ordered so should be here soon. The installing Tech said on the Camaros he had done the procedure was to install the CAI then call the Techline with vehicle info and they would send updates for the CAI calibration.
