Are your weights based on 18" or what size?

What will you be trying in a month that drops 9 pounds?

Great wheel for the street!

The Forgeline GS1R open lug wheel would weigh

19 x 10.5 19.75 pound

19 x 12 20.75 pound

2100 pound load rating and warranted for the track

Forgeline CF205 Carbon Forged wheel

19 x 10 16 pounds

19 x 12 17 pounds

It really all depends on what you want to do with the car, How you want it to look and how much you would like to spend.... It would be hard to go wrong with any of these choices....

He is dropping down the size of the track tires he is running. See his earlier post with the sizes. According to my calculations those sizes should work.

We should note, as far as I know, the rating is only when used with street tires, and Forgeline reduces load ratings when the wheels are used with more track oriented tires.

CCW's load rating is 3000 lbs, regardless of tires, but I don't know if they have warranty.

We run into this every once in a while.... Please do not get me wrong. We have worked John at CCW before he sold to weld. They made a good track wheel for the money and he was pretty successful. We are just saying that they are not stating they have a 3000 lbs load rating...

The quote goes: "Monoblock construction forged from 6061-T6 aluminum results in extremely lightweight forged racing wheels. All designs pass a 3000 lbs. (per wheel) cornering fatigue test load at 200,000 cycles."

Actually...what they say is they put a 3000 load on the wheel. They do not give a load rating...putting a 3000 pound load on a wheel does not really tell you anything. The verbage is pretty misleading....

Load rating decreases across the board for every wheel due to a tire with more grip. It is physics. More grip, more stress.. less load a wheel can take... No grip....a wheel could run forever and never break...

i am not trying to offend anyone... just clearing up a few facts...

R7 in 285/30/18 + 335/30/18 are a total of 8 pounds lighter than the 315/30/18 & 345/35/18 combo. Thatís a lot of un-sprung weight.

Edit: I incorrectly said 9 pounds. Difference is 8 pounds, per Tire Rack spec sheet. 3 pounds for each front tire and a pound for each rear.

I bought these Forgelnes 2 months ago , getting ready for a time trial event this month, the finish of these wheels is amazing. I spent a little more but I really like the quality.

Since I know you go to ECR often, what tires are you running on those wheels and where are you getting the tires?

I think it is time for me to make this same switch now that my wife completed the corvette owners school and wants to do track days with me.

We will be at the Corvette Classic this coming weekend at TMS. If you are going to be around let me know and we could get introduced.
