Anyone running anti-gravity RS-30 battery?
https://shop.antigravitybatteries.co...omotive/rs-30/
What do you think?
Looking to save some weight a little more reliabky than the shorai. I know some are running the shorai LFX36 which is an incredible value and super lightweight. However, im imagining taking the car somewhere and the girlfriend leaving the light on or listening to the stereo play after turning the key off and even if I get a jump the shorai is basically going to be toast.
Its $699 but they offer 12% off and free shipping if you sign up for emails.
This has auto shutoff, auto jump start, and built in charging regulation from what I've read. I reached out to Antigravity and they said only charge it with a optimate lithium ion charger which I don't know if that makes sense being that they say it has charging regulation.

Well I decided to order one and another charger! I have 3 anti-gravity batteries in my motorcycles and love them. So lightweight. I have been hesitating buying one for the vette because of the cost, but well why not you only live once!

I have been messaging with Scott Shafer from Anti-gravity. As of tonight I am not successful with installation.
I had to use foam underneath the RS-30 to lift it up, then flip the side brackets and move them to the top position to allow the plastic piece on the top of the battery to clamp down. The issue is the plastic piece on the top with the junctions. It does not fit on top of the RS-30 battery and when I would screw down the 90 degree metal plate it would lift the post terminal off. This also blocks the Re-start button and LEDs. Maybe cutting the plastic would work but I am not willing to do that to maybe fit the RS-30. I will wait to see what Scott suggests. I was successful in mounting the battery where it would not slide around (it is smaller than the stock battery).
I weighed the stock battery: 38.2lbs, the Anti-gravity was 11.4lbs.

I am in the process of the returning the battery. I do not know how others got theirs to fit, but I was working with Anti-gravity and there were too many workarounds to try to get this installed right. The configuration on the positive terminal does not fit and slips off the terminal. The RS-30 terminals are nickel plated and is a contributing factor to slipping. For the price of the battery I feel it should be a nice clean install.

Thanks for the update, sorry to hear it didn't fit good. You are right, for the money they need to be engineering a drop in solution, hopefully that comes out soon.

Did you send him pictures? Did he contact you back?

any updates on this? Any updates on what the best lightweight battery out right now is? I know there are a million threads on this, but this technology changes so quickly, that something from last year may be obsolete. I drive my car daily, or at least 3 times a week, but about 5-6 times a year it will sit for 7-10 days. I realize there may be some trade off in how long it's able to sit, or how easily it can bounce back from the lights being left on etc.

I spoke with the president he is willing to offer someone a discounted battery if they work with them on coming up with a mounting solution. I’m unfortunately too busy right now.

As always, it pays to read the fine print
PLEASE NOTE: the RS-30 is Not intended for deep discharge use such as powering large watt stereos, or applications where very high Amp Hour capacities are necessary or required. It is intended to be used as a Starter Battery for High Performance Cars/Trucks in non-freezing weather.
