Default How to replace the exhaust tips on C7 2018

Hello guys, I'm new here and while I did search "the how to" section I couldn't find anything related to how to change the exhaust tips on C7 Grand Sport 2018. I purchased the Corsa C7 tips, but just looking at these I have no clue on what will happen to the electric exhaust tip valve ... anybody done this before?

Tips go directly into the muffler. It’s a cut and weld mod. The pic is my stock muffler with stock tips.

but if the car has NPP you only have to cut the two off the mufflers. If you cut them off a lot of after market muffler now have the claims & bolts that you can just do it like that. Robert

Those tips are not for the C7 stock mufflers. They are for the Corsa system which it's mufflers only have one exit per muffler.

wow I guess that might void my dealer warranty I thought it's a simple mod. anyone had issues on claiming dealership warranty on the same after cut and weld?

It has the potential to screw up the OEM muffler warranty. Welding on the mufflers might be construed to shorten life cycle. However, most C7 mufflers will last far longer than the 3 year B2B warranty will. Hell, my 2003 Tahoe is still on the original exhaust system. OEM systems last a very long time compared to 40 years ago when they fell apart within two or three years.

What did you end up doing? The only way I can see that working is to cut the stock tips off after the valve and cut the Corsa tips off the "Y" pipe, then weld them individually onto the 4 stock pipes. I've been considering doing this as I hate the flare of the stock tip.

I don’t like the flared tips either. I have a custom exhaust shop here in San Diego that can do anything. I want to take my 19 to them and see what they have.

Hi there
did you end up changing your tips
i want a set of four flared out perforated inside tips to make two dual set ups
i can not find them anywhere so second hand is my only option I think

I ended up leaving the stock tips. The muffler guy said he’d need to remove the rear bumper cover to do anything. I’m not up for that, so stock it will stay.

Yeah, they do look good. This C7 of mine is the first modern Vette I’ve owned that hasn’t had a Corsa exhaust. I like the sound of stock with an aftermarket X pipe. I do miss the Corsa system. Outstanding sound and quality.

I did the Corsa extreme catback and x pipe. I’m extremely happy and no drone sound. It was a little pricey with installation though.

In San Diego, it’s Ed Hanson Muffler located in Casa Del Oro. Ed Hanson is gone now. His employees took the business over. Very reasonable prices. Good luck.
