Default LG Motorsports EXCLUSIVE: C7 Flywheel/Triple Disk Carbon Clutch

NOW AVAILABLE!

Announcing the new LG Motorsports Exclusive Billet Flywheel/Tilton Triple Disk Carbon Clutch for the C7 Corvette.

This is the ultimate high performance clutch, period. Reduce rotating mass by 48.1 lbs with this light-weight kit.

The factory clutch weighs in at a whopping 66.7 pounds while this kit weighs in at an AMAZING 18.6 pounds!! Reduce rotating mass by 48.1 pounds with this light-weight clutch.

This clutch offers value that comes in the form of long life and the fact that it is delivered with 2 extra plates that compensate for wear. This contributes to the very high mileage reported by users of this clutch.

The clutch revs extremely quickly yet is very streetable. It will not squeal like ceramic or bronze clutches and can be adjusted 2 times. Pressure plate spacers can be added throughout the life of each rebuild to bring the clutch back in spec.

Extreme torque capacity and light weight for fast revs makes this the only choice for serious performance enthusiasts.

This clutch is a large street version of our American Le Mans racing clutch, built for the street and for long wear. The clutch package comes with different thickness wear plates that can be changed out through the clutch disks wear life. There have been reports in high power turbo import cars of up to 40,000 miles of extreme use. Even after the wear plates are cycled though the package, we offer a rebuild option where the manufacturer will rebuild the clutch back to stock specs.

These features are why this clutch has great value and performance. It is clearly the best Corvette high performance clutch on the market, bar none.

Steel disk options available

Clutch/Flywheel.......Weight..........Moment-of-Inertia
3-plate carbon...........18.6 lbs..........316.7 lb-in2
4-plate carbon ..........20.3 lbs..........327.9 lb-in2
3-plate metallic..........21.1 lbs..........340.6 lb-in2
4-plate metallic..........23.5 lbs..........362.6 lb-in2

Thanks,
Fernando

Wow, that's a lot of weight reductions.
How well does this clutch actually work on a street car?
Is tuning required?

It behaves like factory when commuting. Nothing heavy, expect the stock clutch pedal pressure.

Some tuning is required. The difference in rotating mass throws off the factory rev matching but it's a simple adjustment.

The owner of this car drives an hour each way to Sebring and back.

Thanks,
Fernando

Any idea where you can adjust the factory rev match in HP Tuners? Having an issue with mine after some modifications already.

If/when I burn up the stock clutch, something like this will be high on my list.

That stock pile of clutch looks like it came out of a dump truck.

People don't realize just how much better a lightweight clutch/flywheel assembly is and just how insanely slow & doggy the factory crap clutch is.

Drag racers are the only people that need heavy clutches. The rest of us (real drivers) need lightweight road racing goodness.

”real drivers” 😂 savage

Performance- Less strain on the drivetrain winding down, spins up faster for quicker rev match, sheds 40lbs of weight so you can have all the carbs you want and not lose lap time and can be rebuilt when worn down for less than the $3,699 price of the factory bag of cement

For straight line big hp builds it can handle 1260lbft of torque so the 40k you spent to get the hp number can make it to the wheels

For street driving it’s not worth it, but then again carbon fiber intake manifold, coil covers and radiator shrouds aren’t worth it for street driving either.

all about perspective

I was not aware that an LT1 was capable of producing enough horsepower/torque that a Top Fuel type clutch was required? And at a TF price!

it isn’t without an internals swap, this is c7 discussion not c7 non z06 discussion the lt4 can handle a lot more. Interesting that Callie’s sells forged crankshafts, Whipple sells Superchargers, Essex sells big brake kits and we sell sway bars/coilovers/15i. Conversion kits and more for such a perfect car.

You're one of those good drivers I was speaking of. You deserve a lightweight clutch buddy.
