there was another thread where we all went round and round, and if im not mistaken, the z06 header IS CAST STAINLESS, just wanted to throw that out for people who think these are an upgrade from the stock manifolds due to the material they are made from.
Do these flow more air? Probably.
But im not sure these save a ton of weight over the z06 headers, the base LT1 headers are the non stainless headers that weigh a ton, that they compare to in the article.

could be true then, i have not weighed them. I am glad you are getting them so you can let us know the results.
I forget though, aren't you still on a stock tune, or are you about to go over to the dark side?
Also, do you have the norcal pipes? without those i would not be throwing money at these, unless it is only the weight savings you are after.

Yes coat them... any coating is better than none. I had some BBK shorties on my C5 road race car that came ceramic coated shiney chrome looking stuff. Held up fine. You can get super fancy and use swain-tech white stuff, but any decent coating will work. I'd avoid black... every time you nick it changing plugs you'll see metal.

I don't know these days... it's all in the prep. I had some headers don't by a local place called Thermal Tech Coatings many years ago with their "race black 2000" coating. After one hard HPDE weekend there were pinholes all throughout the coating. The generic shiny stuff that came on my BBK shorties held up to 3 seasons as a full ST2 race car before I sold the car. Honestly, I'd probably just get Jet Hot chrome shiney stuff because bling blng But I'm not up to speed on what the absolute best is these days.
