Default Best C7 headers for component clearance and road course use?

C7 engine bay is tight compared to my C5s and the OEM exhaust has a lot of heat shielding. Obviously they added it for a reason.

Already have a Corsa X-pipe.

Can I do American Racing mid-length with cats and get away with no tune?

Dont bother with MID length, absolutely no gain , many posts about this , they dont scavenge any better than the stock manifolds

Thanks... prepping the car for NASA TT3 and can't make more power. Just hate how hard the OEM ones are to work with.

Well Vengeance Racing , one of the best in the business ( and local to me ) has achieved a 45 HP increase without any tune ….that's impressive !!

Here is a post of a Stingray we did ARH catted mid lengths, X pipe, and no tune. Before and after same day on our dyno. Great combination if you already have the x pipe and dont want to tune with longtubes.

We can give you great pricing on ARH products if your looking around. Give us a shout and we will help you out.

But in the end, when getting a tune and more bolts on, like an upper pulley, meth and a tune, is it gonna make restriction compared to LT's??
runners are 1 7/8?

op has a c7 stingray not a z06! I would hope for the same money a z06 owner would shoot for long tubes vs mid length

Again... I don't want power. I want my engine warranty in place and easier service of the exhaust. The factory cat pipes are a PITA to work on.

Are you doing Time Trials? Do you need to work on them all that much? I have been tracking my car for 2.5 seasons and haven't even thought about the exhaust.

Yep , I am asking the same question , in closed loop the fuel trims can make up the difference in the extra fuel that is needed but I have to believe when the ECM goes into open loop it has to be on the lean side , maybe not …

Has anybody tried to get engine warranty work done with headers on the car with no tune … I am thinking that you might run into an issue when they see that , tune or no tune ...and forget anything that has to do with Emissions Warranty ….

I know that the Warranty Act says that they have to prove that the headers caused an issue but remember ...its all up to the dealer and GM on what they cover .

My dealer is a high performance dealer and knows me well from my C6 days on which I did install a headers , CAI and a tune ...

I drove my C6 for 67 thousand happy really fast miles lol , then I buy my C7 A8 and had to have the motor replaced at 30,000 because it dropped a valve , just driving down the highway at 70 MPH minding my own business , its the one time in my whole life that I was happy that I did not have any MODS done even though I have been chomping at the bit to put a CAI , headers and a tune on it ….and just in case anybody was wondering , the first thing they checked was the tune file …..

I am going to wait till I get closer to the end of my warranty before I start bolting things on … just to much expensive stuff that can go wrong , plus the car is already an 11 second car on street tires

MikeyTX did a before & after dyno test on his former Z51 with ARH mid-length HFC headers and picked up +11whp; same gains that I saw with ported/coated OEM manifolds. He did gain more torque than I did, though (+14 vs +8).

Here's my thread: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...manifolds.html

Had a front 02 fail and it was a PITA given the factory studs are too long and the cat pipe hits the cradle.

Sold my ST2 C5 racecar in 2016. Got C7 11/17. Did 2 HPDE weekends instructing st VIR and want to get back into TTing. Plan is TT3 at VIR in October.

I just had an O2 fail. The emissionsnwarranty only covers the cat and the ECM, that's it.

now that one I would have argued ... the O2 is definitely part of the emissions/engine control function
