Default Let’s play guess the repair amount and worth the buy?! 2015 Z06

2015 z06 3LT car. 30k miles. I was originally told it was the torque converter but chevy says torque tube. Nervous about repair costs🤔

They said this one was unsafe to drive as well, I picked it up from the trans shop that screwed up the clutch install and fixed it for the guy. He was 2500 all in but it was just the bellhousing, not the torque tube.

2015 should still be under powertrain warranty, so shouldn't this all be free?

Or did you have mods that voided the warranty? Becausey you should have powertrain until 2020, and a crack like that in the powertrain seems like a warranty issue to me!

Edit: NM, I can see long tube headers in the pics, so that answers my questions. But I'd still be interested in knowing how they voided the warranty. Just more power == cracked torque tube, or what's the logic?

The only thing I can think of is they think the header was loose and somehow hit the side of the bell housing, causing it to crack. If that’s not an oem header, then you have improper install (of 3rd party part) then not covered under warranty.

I don't understand the title of this post." worth the buy?! 2015 Z06 " Is this a car you own or a car you are considering purchasing? If this is a car you are considering buying, just run away!

Well, I'm 100% sure it's not the torque converter

Definitely headers on the car rather than stock exhaust system, but even if they were loose, it's difficult to believe that they would cause that damage.

it's also got an aftermarket clutch so I'm guessing someone didn't reassemble something right.
