Stock Z51 Rotors vs Aftermarket?
Ok so I'm due for rotors on my 2014 Z51. I have experienced some brake fade on the track under full speed hot laps. My question is how much difference is there between the Z51 stock rotors w/ Hawk HPS plus pads and lets say a DBA 5000 Rotor w/same pads? We are talking quite a bit difference in price here.

from what I’ve seen the brakes stay cooler and if they start getting a little hot all I have to do is let off on one or 2 corners and they are back to normal. Compared to the stock pads and rotors, I’m actually glad I went that route even though it was more expensive, I should have gotten the 750 pads instead but the 650 are not too bad. I run my car at the GP and nordschleife in Germany

Lol. I wasn't sure. We don't have motorcycles and cars on the track at the same time with cars typically. Also you passed someone driving a station wagon. I haven't seen any station wagons on the track here. Looks like fun thanks for sharing!

My original pads and rotors are starting to give up, rotors are probably warped.
I am just about to mount my StopTech two piece rotors on my 2017 Z51 in Sweden, Europe. I will also install Carbotech XP 20 pads in the front and XP 12 in the rear. To make it complete I will also install stainless brakelines/hoses on all four corners to get a better feel in the pedal.

Here in Germany you pay 30€ and can drive whatever you want on the track as long as it’s road legal 😂 it really fun but it can make it a lot more dangerous as people who haven’t been to a track before get into the track and half of the time crash because of it. Anyways a good track pad and rotor will hold up way better than the stock stuff! Good luck with your purchases

Rotors are not the issue its your pads.. You need a higher temp pad to prevent brake fade and DOT 4 fluid. Yes, the Dba rotors are far better than the stock 14 Z51 rotors.

Pad compound compatibility for street pads? Back and forth requires pad compatibility if you swap pads.

The great thing about Carbotech brake pads is all their compounds are compatible with each other. So, when going from the 1521(Street) to the XP series (Track) pads all you have to do is swap pads and go no re-bedding no cleaning of the rotors just swap pads and go. This also saves you the cost of having to get a separate set of rotors for track or street.
