Default MGW Shifter in the FARTHER position - does it fit in C7?

My understanding is that MGW has an offset for their shifter rod.
  1. Does anyone know which is the current design? I think it is the straight offset one like in the second picture. Can someone confirm?
  2. Can one be changed to the other by the customer?
  3. Has anyone tried the latest ones in the farther position? i.e. the shifter rod is on the other side, closer to the infotainment screen than what is shown in the second picture. Their installation video talks about the farther option not working with C7 trim, but that was for the diagonally offset design. Is it still the case with straight offset design? My arms are long and the closer position will not work for me, esp. with aftermarket seats.

PS: I don't own the pics below. I found them on this forum, thanks to all the helpful folks

Diagonally offset shown above.

It just puts the shifter a bit forward for longer arms. I didn't like it there.

Installed one on my 2014 this summer. The new design is like picture 2. I read that the offset design (to the side) cannot be used in a C7 because the shifter isn't centered perfectly and it will hit the console.

Did you have any interference issues with the trim?

I've had mine in this position for 3+ years - no issues.
