Yeah the analog temp has been discussed to death in other threads & the consensus was that it is like the tire internal temp readout where it only says Cold/Warm/Hot & seems to always be "Warm". Water analog temp only tells you if you have a high/low problem, other than that it doesn't change. It is one of those idiot gauges that says "Everything's O.K. here" by not fluctuating unless temps shoot up or stay too low.

That is my understanding of it too. Most modern vehicles work this way... just odd GM put this big 220 right in the middle when the real “normal” temp is 200. It’s just confusing and kind of disappointing to see on a well engineered sports car.
