Uniden R7 mounted on an Escort 360C BlendMount
I thought I'd just post this for those with Uniden R7 detectors who might be interested in this mounting option as opposed to waiting for the new R7 BlendMount (which should be released soon).
I'm using an R7 with an Escort 360C BlendMount (part #BMG-2027, which is the part # for 2LT/3LT & 2LZ/3LZ C7s with auto-dimming mirror). I went on a 30 mile test drive last night & the R7 is rock solid with no vibration/bouncing in my Z06/Z07 which I always drive in sport mode (so the ride is about as stiff as a C7 Vette is going to get). All you need to do to make this option work is:

All you need to do to make this option work is:
- Remove the base (i.e. part that slides into the top of the detector) from the Uniden R7 single suction cup mount that comes with the detector.
- Then attach this Uniden R7 base to the Escort 360C BlendMount (part # BMG-2027).
- Then attach the Blendmount to your rear view mirror as usual.
- Use your 'mirror tap' kit to tap into power from your mirror to power your detector (if you haven't already).

It's really not as bad as it looks in the pics. It's actually perfect for accessing all of the buttons on top, including the mount release button. Using the Escort 360C mount on this detector causes it probably to sit lower than it would with a Blendmount made for it. But I didn't want to wait any longer for BlendMount to release their new R7 mount. If it was closer to the mirror I couldn't access the buttons. I don't have huge hands but I wear size large gloves.
You can see the vertical slots in the 360C bracket on either side of the R7 base. I could slide it up a bit higher but the R7 base has a slight amount that protrudes out on each side & those tabs end up hitting the bottom of the Blendmount bracket if you slide it up too much. I would have to modify the base a bit to get it to slide all the way to the top of those slots but then I probably couldn't get my hand in there to access the buttons.

I haven't read reviews on the R7 yet. How does it compare to the R3 and V1?

And the previous beta testing on the R7 here.
