Had a new battery installed on my 2019 Corvette C7 Grand Sport, as the old one had a bad cell. So, now the "check engine" light is on, AAA said it's normal and will go out.
Ok, BUT the remote start no longer works. Car starts fine with starter button on dash, but nothing happens with the remote. Any ideas??? THANKS
I've never heard of a check engine light coming on after a battery replacement. Yes the computer has to go thru its entire drive cycles and learn to be emissions compliant again, but that never activates the check engine light. Sounds like a copout from the person installing to get you off their back. Check the codes, find out what the check engine light is on for. Once you post that, we can help. And like said above, as long as check engine light is on, remote start is disabled. So if we fix check engine light, remote start will miraculously return.
I see, since I did not have the check engine light on until the battery was changed, I assumed it was the battery change that made it go on. I will try and see what the code is then. Thank you as well.
yeah i would check the battery area connections, especially the smaller negative one that Elmer mentioned. if that gets ripped out of the terminal which happens all sorts of gremlins come out at night.
but i took my battery out and in with no check engine light or "resetting" period... if anything it clears out the codes and then you need to relearn emissions stuff and other factors. https://www.corvetteforum.com/how-to...battery-368194
