Before and after pictures of the repair. The repair kit is the one with the suction syringe you can get at all the stores. The after picture actually looks worse than it is. I hope this stops it from getting bigger.
The kit with the suction syringe works well, better than some of the older kits. I would like to see how the glass companies do their chip repair and how much it costs.

Before I go buy and use the kit, I would check with my insurance company. Many will do a free chip/crack repair and proceed to glass replacement if necessary. If they will do it for free, I'm going to let the pros do it instead of me messing with it.
I tried the sharpie and the little spot does look better. I will see how it looks after I wash it. I really don't mind the tiny spot, my biggest concern was if the chip turned into a huge crack. I hope the glue in the chip prevents it from getting worse.

I agree - my insurance company covers glass chip repairs 100%.

It normally does so I'd just wait and see if the crack stays the same, if it doesn't address it then. I did this repair on my 2004 Z06 on 3 different small rock hits and and I ended up forgetting all about them (they were more in the middle of the windshield). Maybe not as big as yours but they were all fine for years.

As long as you don't have hot and cold situations, you may be OK. I had a chip and winter didn't help. Ran the defroster and 10 miles later, I got to see how it cracks all across the windshield. Center to both sides compete with cracking sound effect.
