One of the reasons, the C6 Z06 didn't come with an automatic is GM never validated an automatic transmission to the LS7. The 6L90 could have easily handled the torque, but the LS7 spun almost 1,000rpm higher than the LSA. So, not sure if that was the main issue. Probably that and the relatively low demand for an auto C6 ZO6.
The LS7 is 7000 RPM, the LSA is 6600 RPM...looks like 400 RPM by my math.

I believe the LSA is 6,200rpm (I own a 2012 CTS-V) and the LS7 revs to 7,100rpm. That's 900rpm.

very minor, but I believe the ZL1 has a 6200 Redline(6300 fuel shut off ?????) and the LS7 has a 7,000 redline(7100 fuel shut off).

The ZR1 has a 6500 redline(6600 fuel shut off). The LT1 has a 6500 redline(6600 fuel shut off?????).

That's why I'm waiting for the '15 I had an idea when I heard about the new trans that it might end up in the Vette. Can't wait.

If the sc is centrifugal would it would have to be mounted horizontally to fit? Not enough space is there?
