The C7R will be RED
Hi all,
I've noticed a few interesting things over the past few days. First off, there were some images released of the C7R's testing at Sebring. You can see clearly in these pictures that the wing mirrors are bright red.

I wouldn't give this much thought if it were only one of the two cars, as sometimes they use these elements to distinguish the cars from one another, however, you can see clearly that both the 3 car and the 4 car have red mirrors. Also, when GM unveiled Jake this morning they released the image in black and white form.
Now, why would they do that? They could have easily shown Jake as yellow on black...
Lastly, Ferrari won't have the same presence in Tudor as it did in ALMS. Where there were three 458's running in previous years, only one remains. It stands to reason that Corvette is trying to reclaim racing red here in North America. Thoughts?

I will be shocked if they are not yellow.

I agree. I thought I just saw a video, maybe on Autoline, where Tadge said it would still be yellow.
The Corvette team has specifically stated in the past that they've worked to brand he color yellow because it sticks out in photos and it's easy to see on the track.
I really doubt that it won't be yellow. It's not a random color. It's part of the brand now.
Even the sneak peak of the C7 Z06 is yellow, which was expected.

Agreed, was in one of the other threads that they stated the mirrors had to be red, found it strange why it needed to be that colour but oh well. Still a beast in any colour.

TUSCC has made it a rule that GTLM cars must have red mirrors and end plates to differentiate from other classes

It'll be yellow...maybe different colored mirrors between cars, but that'd be it.
Based on what we were told at the last bash, the C7R was going to have a 1 time scheme at Daytona, then it would change after that for the remainder of the season. He said, the first time scheme was some kind of "camo" layout that was yellow...that's all he told us. He said it looked really cool.

The best rule in the entire book...
Leader lights must be working at all times during a race or the car may be stopped by Race Control.
We'll have leader lights, or NO ONE runs...haha! Take that!
The behind the scenes story of the leader light saga for the past two years...is interesting and ridiculous to say the least. For people watching on tv, the leader lights (or lack thereof) wasn't a big deal, but if you're at a race, it SUCKS not having them...real bad.

I think the yellow has really gotten long in the tooth. What? 13 years or so? I think they should do what the US Navy did with their aircraft during the Centennial of Naval Aviation in 2011 where they painted dozens of aircraft in heritage schemes from WWI through the Gulf War.
Why not a Spirit of Sebring scheme for the 2014 12 Hours of Sebring or white with a blue stripe like the 1960 LeMans-winning team. They should embrace the racing heritage of the mark. Yellow's gotten quite boring, the paint scheme should be just as exciting as the shape of the car itself.

I do hope they stick with yellow. It sure stands out on the track.
