There is no GM/NCM reveal like 1.13.13. GM's will reveal the cars at NAIAS Monday morning during "Press Preview," for which you must, in advance, be credentialed by NAIAS.
The schedule for the NAIAS is:
Press Preview: Monday, Jan. 13th & Tuesday, Jan. 14th
Industry Preview: Wednesday., Jan. 15th & Thursday, Jan. 16th
Charity Preview: Friday, Jan. 17th
Public Admittance: Saturday, 18th - Sunday, 26th

I was thinking about it too. Out of DFw it was 266.00 round trip not to bad... The only thing I'm afraid of is a turn of the century blizzard will come in and I'll be stuck!! That's my luck

I think I am going to make the trip for the first public weekend. Last time I went to the NAIAS was for the C6 Z06 reveal, and I would kick myself if I didn't see the new Z this time around.

What this guy said. Don't let that stop you from going to Detroit (um... yuck) to see the car if you want. But it'll be in a roped-off display by the time you get there, and you won't be able to get near it to see the insides, details, etc.

On the fence about going. I was a definite, but then I started looking at flights and lets just say it costs alot more to fly to Detroit in the middle of winter than I thought it would.
In all honesty, its depends on my 67 year old father. If he wants to go, we're going. If he doesnt.. then Ill just wait another month or so and hope to see it at the DC or NYC show.

As I live within an hour's drive from downtown Detroit, and had worked in the automotive industry, I'll head down to one of the Industry Preview days.

We always go on the opening weekend. It's a 5 hour drive. Stay at the Marriott in the GM Renaissance Center the night before, then walk over to Cobo in the morning. If you get in right at 9am you have a couple hours before it gets real crowded. Go straight to Corvette, then to the other important unveilings before the crowds arrive

Get in one hour early and special presentation by Corvette engineers
Americas Corvette Club has invited us to join them in a special viewing of the unveiling of the C7 Z06 at Cobo Hall on Day 1 of the public portion of the NAIAS (Detroit Auto Show). The C7 Z06 development team will be on hand to detail for us why this Corvette is "the most capable Corvette ever produced". And the new C7.R race Corvette will also be on display. Date of the event is January 18, 2014. We will gain access to the show one hour ahead of the general public.
All attendees will meet at Cauley's automotive on Orchard Lake Road in West Bloomfield, MI for a warm coach ride to the doors of Cobo (coach departs Cauley's at 7am sharp!), a long sleeved tee shirt commemorating the event, ticket to the auto show (AND early admittance!), a trip to Motor City Casino for lunch and fun (lunch and fun at your own expense), and then a warm coach ride back to your car at Cauley's. Price is $35 per person.
The Catch is that we need 49 participants to honor the package price, and I need to let them know by THIS THURSDAY, December 19. Then I will need you to mail me a check ASAP if we have enough participants to make this a go. I will advise all people who RSVP if we get enough participants and where to mail the check.
Please RSVP asap (BEFORE THURSDAY, Dec 19th!) if you want to join this exciting event!!! The first 49 responders will be accepted!!!!!
Happy holidays,
Karen
