Yep, I remember... though it was Aerodynamic reasons above 150... so not anything you typically see on a track.

But again... I kept it to myself... because honestly, 'aesthetically' I didn't find the FRC's as appealing as the Coupe's... and I think GM realizes this.

Not sure what the surprise will be. Maybe an all out dedicated track version (think Z28) could be a way that they get the 'advertised weight' where they need it?

They need a 200-plus mph top speed for bragging rights. A FRC shape would hinder that.

Isn't that already an option? I know they had late availability so maybe they decided to just release it as new for 2015?

Default C7-z06

I think the surprise will be more carbon fiber body panels. Maby doors or rear quarter's. And if it isn't super charged curb weight of around 3000 pounds. you heard it here first.......

Very possible. I think it was to be available in the 2014s but hasn't happened as of yet. I believe the option number et al was known.

It has to be the 8 speed. A vert really wouldn't be a surprise; it's pretty much expected with the new chassis. Plus, if the 427 and GS weren't big enough indicators that a vert is wanted in this market I don't know what is.

They wouldn't unveil it now if was intended to be a surprise. Besides, its available for the base Vette so its not a feature that's new or unique to the Z. It's a great announcement for all 2015 Corvettes but not a surprise.
