I'm sending my c7 to hennessey for the 600hpe upgrade once delivered...with carbon fiber sills and splitter. also have HRE P104 rims in 21x12.5 rear and 20x10 front with titanium lugs. It will be very similar to the Z06 im assuming numbers wise. I'll have the dyno and performance numbers from hennessey when the get it completed....I don't have access to a track that I know of or a professional driver to run it..but would be interested to see the numbers...Sam

Every time Tadge has talked about the Nurburgring, he has always stated that the primary objective is to work on the suspension for European roads and the Nurburgring. He always states that the lap time is secondary.
Personally I don't see GM paying big money to get Jan or one of the other pro drivers there for a couple of weeks with a full crew, then renting the track to cut a lap. All this after they've spent a lot of time there developing the chassis. They've never done it that way and I really don't think they ever will. JMO

Mero has proven he can get it done & is as capable as nearly any ringer out there. He has an intimate knowledge of that track, which is essential to go fast there (along w/ large attachments).
Just because he doesn't put on a race suit for a living doesn't mean his efforts will be substandard, by any means--we'll be well represented by him.
I'm predicting he'll turn a 7:14ish on a clear track. My .02

It would be all about the aero, the ACR went 7:12 and that car is a purpose built track monster. The Z would be hard pressed to run less than the ZR1 time, maybe a couple of seconds better iof anything.

It is going to be more than a couple of seconds faster than the zr1. The doyownforce on cars is so much more important than a lot of you realize. Cornering speeds increase by a large amount. The little bit of straight line top end is overshadowed by the higher average speed. If you take a corner 10 mph faster that is 10 mph you do not have to accelerate to on exit. If you ever did track sessions with the little single seaters you would know what I am referring to.

I agree Chuck, that is why I said it will be all about the aero. None of us know those figures yet but I highly doubt it will be in the area of the ACR which is 1000 @ 150mph. From what I remember they never ran the 2010 at the Ring which had different end plates and more angles on the rear wing but the 08 or 09 ran a 7:12 and the ACR-X ran a 7:03. The new Z is all speculation for now but if it ran a sub 7:15 I'll be impressed.

But remember how many times that ACR was on the limiter--killing some speed? That adds up on a course that long...
It should have been @ least a few seconds faster, overall, if that wasn't the case.
We know that auto w/ 8 speeds won't have issue. ;-)
