Z06 Performance Data Recorder?
Does anyone know if the new Z06 will have the Performance Data Recorder like they are saying will be on the 2015 Stingray?

I hope it's $1,000 max. Lap timing is usually $20, $30, at the track. I realize this does a bit more but you could buy a Go Pro, all attachments and lap at least a dozen times for $1,000.
Z07 and comp seats will be too much anyway, this recorder will be the only option I'd buy...if it's a decent value.

Harry's Lap Timer and a smartphone mount will accomplish essentially the same thing for ~$50 (plus the price of the phone).
Although, if I was buying the Vette I'd almost certainly get this option for the increased accuracy and integrated OBD info (both of which can be added to the phone based option), but the price would need to be $500 at most (assuming one has already purchased the GPS/Nav option). $1000 seems way too expensive given what else is out there, and at that price I'd probably mull it over for a day or so before coughing up the money (but only grudgingly).
In fact, the only things keeping me from buying a C7 right away was the wait for this option and the competition seats. And now I'm thinking about the new Mustang. At this rate I'll be driving my 350Z forever!

Scraping the splitter.
I agree that the PDR needs to be relatively cost effective, but IMO what you're paying for is not having to mount your phone (or Vbox, Aim, Traqmate, etc.) and possibly GoPro. And obviously, those devices will not have the vehicle data that the integrated PDR will unless you get into Traqdash, Aim MXL or a similar unit. And at that point, the price gets much more steep.
IMO, $1000 would be a deal. However I think it'll be more than that.

Ferrari has just released their Telemetry system on the La Ferrari, F12, and 458 Speciale. I haven't been able to get the cost of the system on the web, but I'll call my dealer to find out what the up charge is for comparison purposes. No doubt it will be probably 3 times the cost and it's not a totally integrated system like the Corvette

Just got off the phone with the Ferrari dealer that I've dealt with. The Camera package kit is $5906.00. The Telemetry system itself is standard on all three and as of now not available on the others. Don't be surprised if the Corvette PDR option is $1500.00. All option pricing seems to be 3x or 4x relative between Ferrari and Corvette.

My guess is that it's a separate option, but nobody knows until the order guide is released later this year. GM might not even know yet. They are probably still putting together all the options and packages for the 2015 Z06.

I do not believe that the current version of HLT for Android offers video. That makes it a no-go for LOTS of people.

What they say and what actually happens.......... but they said that the Z06 with the Z07 optioned all the way out would be just under $100K and I would expect the Performance Recorder will be included.

I'm a total gadget freak so I'm in 2-3K. I don't think it's going to cost that much cuz it's basically just software not too much hardware..i hope..

However, there is not necessarily a direct correlation between cost to manufacture and sales price. I have seen computer system upgrades that cost major money when in fact the only thing done after the smoke and mirrors was the changing of a couple jumpers. Seriously. No bull...not in the least.
