Little Frank Reality Check for Challenger vs C7 Corvette

It won't even be close... I purchased my wife a new 14' SRT8 Challenger. She is into the big retro muscle car rides like a couch kind of car. She loves Corvettes as well. Long story short, after riding in a C7 there is no way way the srt8 would touch it in any aspect. I assume it will be the same with the hellcat/z06 comparison. They are not built to compete with one another though. I believe it is a completely different market. No one is going to cross shop the two cars. She could have had a C7 for the price of her SRT8, but she preferred the Challenger. I prefer the Corvette.

the drag pak challenger would eat any Z06 alive at the drag strip
if they make a hell cat version of the Drag Pak - it will be an 8 second machine from the factory
but comparing street cars - this is just silly. The street version of the Challenger is a pig. I try to like them but i cant get over how big they are.
And while Camaros are not much different - id rather have a Camaro

Who's Little Frank?
Pretty much my exact situation my S.O. wanted a Challenger - ours is an RT- she prefers it to just about any car. Don't think there will be any person on earth cross shopping these two cars - as they where not built with the other as a competitor. One's a real 4 seater for starters (not a two plus two)- then there are about 1000 other reasons like price, performance, style, size, riding dynamics etc etc. - Also the Challenger has almost SUV like storage space when you fold down the seats - comes in very handy day to day. No comparison to a Corvette where it counts - but a great car and the Hellcat is going to be insane in the Muscle Car competition.

When we half-jokingly asked Reid when we would see this engine in the Viper, Reid would only say "It would require a ton of engineering."
In other words they don't want to admit that 8+ liter V10 is a horrible sounding, overly heavy lump.
And continue to doom the viper to it's slow demise.
I will say this, why would you EVER buy a ZL1, CTSV, Shelby GT500 now.
Grats Dodge the Challenger just Stomped out the other muscle cars.
Now Put It In The Viper.

the CTSV is a bad fast luxury car..
The GT500... well let's face it it has a solid axle under the back end.
It in ofitself is a one trick car.
707 ponies, comparable weight to it's competition cars, it's going to walk all over the ZL1, and GT500 in a bad bad way. If you are going to pay Corvette Prices for your muscle car. It better be able to do at least SOMETHING well compared to the vette.
This challenger is just what the Dr Ordered there I think.
And that engine... dear god. Why is that not in the viper as of yesterday? Redesign the frame rails if that's what it takes.

the ZL1 isn't the track rat camaro. (the Z28 ripped that thunder away and curb stomped it)

That's a whole lot of ground to make up with a 200 pony deficit to say nothing of the torque when they weigh about the same.
I don't think the Challenger handles THAT much worse than the El Fatso ZL1, and I really doubt it handles worse than the solid axle mustang.
Course if the guy in the camaro bumps his knee on the key fob the race is over before it even properly starts
